I quit taking my Viibryd because it was giving me memory loss. Has this happened to anyone else?

How long had you been taking it? Did you quit cold turkey or slowly per your Pdoc?
For me, depression/anxiety affects my memory. I've noticed my memory not as sharp but, I'm 43 so I can't say which came first- memory or AD's.
If yours was from Viibryd, I doubt it was unique to that med in particular as I think all can affect memory a bit, but for me, if it's a side effect, I'll take it over depression.
Best wishes!

I quit cold turkey. I just stopped it one day. There were entire days/evenings that were hard to remember. Some I couldn't remember at all, and that scared me. I'm 31... my memory is typically sharp. I didn't feel like it was helping me anymore than any other drug was, and I wasn't quick to get back onto the Zoloft, as I'd previously taken. It took me so long to get off the Zoloft. So right now I'm not on anything.

That would be scary. How long did you take it before you quit? How's your depression now?

Take which? The Zoloft? Or the Viibryd? I took the Zoloft for 6 years and then switched to 10 mg of Viibryd. I took the Viibryd for two months before just quitting that cold turkey.
My depression is.... meh. I have some really bad days (mostly around my menstrual cycle) and some weeks are harder than others. Today I feel really good, as I have the past couple of days. I've been trying to read books on mindfulness & I've been really trying to change negative thought patterns. I'm going to see how far I can ride it until I need a new medication. I'm just so tired of the side effects from them all. Lots of my friends suggest Welbutrin to me but I'm hesitant to start something new with 2 being "no" for me. It's a constant battle.

Wellbutrin is a little different as far as side effects go. I guess it isn't an ssri or an snri. Being it is a class of it's own. It is more of an upper as far as antidepressants go. It gives you some energy and helps your brain work sharper. I hope if you need something that you give it a try.
Self help books are awesome, so is mindfulness. Mindfulness and meditation help me a lot. Keeps me calm.
Best wishes for an awesome day!!!
Hugs, Karen...

Thanks. That's why Wellbutrin keeps being suggested to me by folks that are on it. I need motivation because the more energy I have the better I do mentally. It's just really hard to break that cycle of coming home from work and staring at the ceiling and letting all the really bad thoughts in. In the meantime, yeah, I'm just taking it day by day and trying to change my behaviors and thoughts but if I start falling into the really dark place again I guess I'd have to try something new.

Did the Zoloft poop out on you or why did you switch to Viibryd? Did you feel the memory loss on Zoloft?
I recently took Wellbutrin for a month as an addon to Pristiq but it didn't make much of a difference. I was on a low dose tho (100mg). I didn't get any bad side effects. Only thing I noticed was a mild headache or several days but it went away.

The Zoloft just never really did much but it did make me feel numb. I never got really happy, nor did I get really sad either. And my sex drive was non-existent. I just didn't like it, so I switched to Viibryd, which I liked better except for the whole memory loss issue.
