I am good Sean... I have been reading your posts, and I am so happy for you. I think in the beginning it is a little shaky. We bounce back and forth until we get stabilized, but you sound really good and you have made a lot of progress. I am so happy with the whole forum, everybody is so supportive and people are doing better...

Keep hanging in there Sean... Know that there are better days ahead, as the medication starts working better and more evenly in your body.

Try to focus on your gig tonight but try not to worry about it. Easier said than done I know. I think once you are working you wont focus as much on how you feel. Keeping your mind busy is so important.

Know that we are all here for you Sean.

I am doing okay today. Had a lot of thunderstorms this morning. I think it has settled now. I hope.

I take abilify but it is similar. It took about a week to see if it was working. I was happy for that...

I think that the reason that it seems you feel worse than before is because you had some time of feeling good. And now you have something to compare it to. Just keep hanging on. You have improved and you also went up on a medication (I think) and that sometimes throws us off for a few days.

I hope that you feel better soon. Good luck with the gig. Let us know how that goes. I will be thinking of you...

I think it will take a few days to feel a difference, but no more than a couple of weeks. I hope it works for you Sean. I know how hard you have been fighting to feel better.

Hi Lisa!!!

I don't know why it would be weeks instead of days. But not long ago, I had a bad week. Not a bad day, but a bad week all the way around. It was from a medication that I was taking for pain. Once I went off of it, I felt better. As soon as a matter of fact. Are you still taking pain pills? They can make you depressed. Not all of the ones I have taken make me depressed. Just a certain one did.

This would be a good thing to ask your doctor I think. Why you are getting depressed for weeks at a time. But as Lisa said, it could be the medication going into your system. Often we get worse before we get better. Try to think positive. "it is going to be a good day!!!" No matter how you feel...

Maybe you can call the consultant tomorrow and say you don't want to wait any longer on the Cymbalta. It's been 6? weeks? That should have been long enough. I know they say 8 weeks but until the Lamictal, you weren't having many good days. This has gone on long enough. I'd call your consultant this morning & see if they can work you back in sooner.

I'm glad you did your gig. Doesn't matter if it was auto pilot or felt awful, you did it.

How much have you been taking of your anti anxiety medication lately? Is klonezepan? That's what my friend tried and she said it made her feel weird. Can you plead with the consultant to let you try alprazolam (Xanax). Or did you say it wasn't covered by insurance?

Keep fighting Sean. I've seen you have more good days than bad in the last several weeks. I know the bad days seem to overtake the good days but the good days are relevant and cannot be discounted. This is not your life forever, I can still promise you that. It's taking longer than we like but this is going to pass.

Have you seen your therapist at all during the good days? I know before you said you and the therapist decided for you to put off therapy until the DP went down? I think you should go regardless of DP days or not...

Hi Everyone,

Sorry for late reply, I had a gig last(fri)night and tonight and I felt and still feel really out of sorts in my head. My consultant basically said to me to give it a couple of more weeks to see if I stable out as I am now on 150 mg of Lamictal, he said that the anti-depressants could be partially working but I have been taking them for 7 weeks now and I have had in the last month two good weeks and two bad weeks which has left me confused as to weather the anti-depressants are working or not......so now I have to wait another couple of weeks and see how I feel then but I feel like the fight has been knocked out of me because I thought I was over it.

Sean- how was today? Can you call your consultant this week to try and get in? You may just need to switch AD's as it sounds like the Lamictal IS working...

Yes! to existing & not living. It's a terrible feeling. Of course I know it and it sucks.

I didn't know you were still taking sleeping tablets- were you on those before your Feb panic attack or after?

My friend cannot take sleeping pills. I tried myself once and felt VERY bizarre. I know many can take them and do successfully but it made me feel terribly weird & spacy. That may not be your issue but it's worth experimenting with to see if you can taper down & see an improvement.

Gonna get this figured out buddy. No one stays like this firever, especially when getting help. I know you're beyond over it but experiment with the sleeping pills & see how you feel taking less or none at all for a few days.

Sean, you might ask your consultant about Trazodone. I've taken it for years to help me sleep, no hangover. And it's supposed to help with depression, too.
