Chronic boils...where should I post for help?

I'm sorry for posting this in two forums, I just can't find one that fits the bill.

I've been all over the forums and can not find one that addresses this. Please feel free to guide me to the right one!!

I have been prone to boils for years.....2 or 3 a year, no big deal.

For the past several months, I have 'chronic boils', one right after the other. Some hurt more than others, some come to heads and pop, once in a while one might disappear after a while without causing much trouble.
I currently and quite acutely have 4 boils in typical places :)
This is making me crazy and actually a bit ill feeling, not to mention the soreness.
I have no idea what to do, what could cause it (not hair follicles), how to find out if it's something else (staph-bacterial).
Please help, any suggestions appreciated.
I'm a middle age female.

Chronic pain would probably be a good forum to post in. Though if you are dealing with depression too, this would be a good place, just not sure if anyone can help you with the boils. Whenever I have had one, I use drawing salve. But it didn't always work. I am not prone to getting them though.

I hope you find some answers...

Yup, I'm no stranger to depression, ptsd and anxiety!! I would think somewhere on here would be about skin issues, but it seems to be tucked away somewhere........I'll keep looking and thanks!

I have them also. They hurt and just come right back. My doctor has tried different antibiotics and nothing has helped. I also use a draw out salve and it take a day or so but helps. It smells like tar and stains everything it touches but stains I can deal with, boil pain, no way. I have been ready up on MSA, and it sounds like this is what I have. Just Google it and see if maybe this maybe something to talk to your doc about.

hi there. i constantly deal with diabetic sores and any little biting bugs. dealing with them at the moment. we are here for you. itchy itchy scratchy scratchy. boooo.

Thanks all! Nice of you to answer me, even when I'm 'off topic', not knowing where to post!

I know I've developed 'sensitive skin' the last few years with some dermatitis...elbows, hands, shoulders and etc. with itching and little blisters.
But these boils are nuts!
I will have to call the doctor this week (embarrassing) and see what he tells me. I've wondered if there is a underlying condition/infection like staph that needs treated. Certainly don't need MRSA!

i had staph after my heart surgery.nasty. bloody hospitals. i got little bite scab things now. yeah, sensitive skin. good move seeing ya doc.

It cannot be MRSA. When I had it, it came on really fast, and even though I started antibiotics within 24 hours, I was in serious pain, couldn't walk, feverish, and was in the ER, admitted, and out of commission for a month.

Believe me, if it was MRSA, you'd know. It cannot develop into MRSA, but it could be a regular staph infection.

Where are the boils located, I once was getting what appeared to be boils in an area that I won't mention, of course I panicked at first and thought great I now have herpes, they would go away and then come back and they were very painful and I sometimes would run a fever and feel over all bad, I let this go on for a year because I was embarrassed.

I would have hated for someone to check my google searches because I was constantly looking up "what does a herpes sore look like", and what I had was nothing like what the pics showed.

I finally went to my doctor, was just done with being embarrassed, and it was an infection in the hair follicles, there is a very long name for it, I was put on sulpha? and another medication and they went away and have never returned and that was over 2 years ago, although I did find out that I am allergic to sulpha and only took it for 4 days.
