Hey Trina and Myself...I've been reading, so I've wondered about
you two.
Trina... I'm sorry for your troubles, but happy that you sought help. Don't let the corn/mashed potatoes/corn again debacle get you flustered, stressed and overworked, Sweetie! I admire your courage and giving heart. Be well=)
Myself... I missed you too. I've wanted to reach out and offer my support of your self-described "bad news". I just don't ever really feel confident that I should...I'm here if you need me.
Joyce...KUDOS on hanging of drapes. I've been considering hanging something of a different variety. I just decided it would be a total waste of a good rope=)
UA...Glad your dad's memorial service is behind you. Sad to hear of your mom's diagnosis. If she finds the right doctor, she should receive treatment allowing her to live her life on her terms. It will be okay. I promise.
Chelel..."Cowboys ain't easy to love" according to the song. But it surely won't hurt to have some fun LIKING HIM. It may be just what you need for now.
Jess...Not for nothing, but electronics are far more expensive than groceries. Just an observation, not a judgment. I think most of us would think hm-m-m, new techno gadgets, but no food to prepare Thanksgiving. What's wrong with this picture? It's not my business, but I'm just sayin...priorities. I care about you and pray that you find a balance.
Happy Turtle...Sorry for all of your ups and downs with health and mind. This is just a hard time of year, when family issues are already frustrating. The pressure to "be what we see" is just too much. Be good to yourself.
Karen...Pumpkin Pie? I get a chuckle out of your pie posts. My husband cooked a luscious layered GC cake last weekend to cheer me up. I remained sad, but somehow there were crumbs on my shirt...OOPS!
I'm not sure I've spoken to everyone. I'm MIA and SAD...Don't see that changing any time soon. I plan to prepare a traditional Thanksgiving Dinner for just the 2 of us. I'm making roasted spatch-cocked turkey w/cracked pepper and rosemary. I've completed my cornbread dressing and also cranberry chutney, so the flavors can absorb. I will make my mom's white creamy giblet gravy with sliced eggs. No sweet potatoes (but a pumpkin cheesecake). A simple crock of Leseur Peas w/butter and we're good. I'm not making the broccoli/cheese/rice casserole or the green bean casserole this year...too much food for 2. My husband voted "no rolls---more room for dressing!"
We will deliver a plate for supper to my mom and sit with her a while. Can't take much more with shingles raging due to stress of it all. She may just throw it into the floor, just to watch me clean it up. Good times.
Healthy Holiday Wishes To All!
