A lot of physcians believe that anxiety and depression is a causitive factor for colitus.
Are you seeing a therapist ? They help tremendously in organizing your emotions and thoughts, changing negatives into positives.
I suggest you work on emotional balance, since you are 19, horomones are still a a huge factor. Here is a list of some skills that may help in balancing some of your emotions, helping you identify them. Obtain a list of emotions from the internet and keep it close for reference.
Art, just start painting or coloring in colors that fit the way your feel. when done, review the piece and put emotions to the lines, colors or forms. make notes
Journal your thoughts in a book, helps to organize racing and looping thoughts. Negative thoughts and be challenged with positive truths.
Music, change your mood get out of your head, lift your mood
