Hello i'm new here, i guess i started to have anxiety and depressive feelings in early teens. Now i'm in my 30's i'v been prescribed anti anxiety & anti depressive meds a few times already but i never took them seriously.and yesterday my doc prescribed escitalopram S-Celepra or Feliz S 10 mg. Still so anxious to take these drugs for the possible side effects though i also want to give it a try,i want some relief from my symptoms in the first place confused

welcome to the forum.

Since the doc prescribed the meds, I would start taking them and communicate with the doc on how you are feeling.

You will not know unless you try.

Trina is right. I know its scary to take a medicine that will affect the way you think and feel but sometimes that fear is coming from the depression. For me, depression is like a monster. It wants to destroy my happiness and that includes treatments that could help.

Just remember to not expect immediate changes. These medicines can take up to 6 weeks to help. Until then, when you get the depressive thoughts just remind yourself those thoughts are trying to bring you down.

To take or not, that is the question.

If you don't, you will not feel better for some time, as long as it takes talk therapy to help.

If you do, you might feel better.

You might have side effects.

They might go away after a few weeks.

They might not go away, but they might not be bothersome.

They might be bothersome, so you stop taking the medication.

Yeah thanks. My doc just prescribed this med good for 15 days. Even trying to try this med for chances of relief is still anxiety for me...amazing anxiety.its like to make a final decision of taking it is matter of life and death and no turning back coz by the time its in my tummy that will be it. I just want to bring back the drive in me, i still have 2 adorable kids to nurture for my partner is away for greener pasteur. smhair
