Can depression medicine help me love my boyfriend again?

Me and my boyfriend have been dating for two years on and off. He was my first love and my only love but I did him wrong a lot. He got deppressed and moved on after we had broken up. Of course it was only then that I realized how much I loved him. He didn't want me back though and I tried and cried for him back for a whole week. He finally said we could get back together then he cheated on me.. That's when I got depressed but I thought it was just a phase.. We eventually got back together and I thought I'd be happy but I wasn't. I thought it'd take time to be happy again because I was just hurt but it never got better.. And here I am two months later still with him and he treats me so good but I can't be happy.. I try to force myself to be happy but it never works. And worst of all I can't love him or be myself around him like I use too yet I love him so much! Someone please tell me this is just the depression and depression medicine might help me be myself again and make me be able to be happy with him and love him again! I use to be so confident and happy with myself but now I'm so insecure and I just feel lost. I go to the doctor tomorrow for medication but I really hope it works. I'm so scared of losing him.

HI. i think that the relationship saga has and is causing you to feel depressed. a relationship on cheating and ill treatment on both parties is one that needs a lot of work to be solid. by all means talk with ya doc. your insecurity of losing this person is an element that your mind is in toil. i am sorry, but this relationship does not sound like a relationship built on solid foundation and trust. maybe it will be, but i cheating is and the manipulation of it is a deal breaker in my book.

Work on you and getting better. Not pleasing him. You have to be whole in order to have a successful relationship. And once you get better, you may not even want to be with him anymore. Forget about him. make this about you... I hope you feel better soon.

I think if you just sit quietly outside alone for a few minutes you will realize that a pill is not going to change anything.

From what you have posted, this relationship was not meant to be or you would not have acted in the way you did.

Time to move on, find out what you want in life. Mature, start a career, hold your own, so no one has to take care of you! Then you will evenutally run into the right person.

I really can't forget about him. He treats me so good and I was the one that treated him like crap for so long. He loves me again and I am not going to let that go. He was also on some really bad medicine at the time that he cheated on me that made him not make right choices. I forgave him but the feeling in my chest is still there. It would be worse if I wasn't with him and I know that if I let him go AGAIN like I have a thousand times. I would definitely regret it. He knows about my depression and he always tries to help but no matter what he does it doesn't help. Or my friends. Nothing helps. I can't keep going on feeling like this. I'm not me and this is not how you should live life. I use to be happy so I know what it feels like. I will try medicine. I've tried everything else. Thank you for your replies though. Having someone to talk to is nice.

Talk to a doctor about medication and a therapist. Therapy helps a lot...

I am sad to have to point this out, Lost.

However, medication can and may change a persons mood. It CAN NOT make you cheat on someone. That is a 'decision'. As adults we are all responsible for our own behavior, be it good or bad, in the end.

This goes for a persons diagnosis also. Emotions are feelings, just that. Person chooses to follow them or not. Learning to become emotionally stable would be a good choice before you get back together with this person.
