Karen, thanks for your response. I've been going to the same therapist for 9 years. He's fabulous. In the summers of 2006 and 2007, I went through an intensive group therapy. The 2nd time around, the psychiatrist placed me on Lexapro, and I felt infinitely better within a week. And it has been a miracle for me, except for the time I was taking the generic. As I look over the past several months, I have had increased crying and a feelings of defeat that had been gone for so long. Now, I'm having lots of anxiety. My body doesn't react to most psychotropic drugs. It's as if I'm taking sugar pills. I'm currently taking 20mg daily. I don't know if going higher is recommended. I was just wondering if there are newer drugs out there that are similar to Lexapro that my body would respond well to. I see my therapist this week, and he will know what I should do. I'm angry that I have to go through this trial-and-error stuff with the drugs, again. Or that I will need to return to group therapy.
Thanks for your response!
