Having "those" papers taped to the door used to be an annual event for me! Knowing that everyone that saw them there knew what they meant was quite a blow to my ego. The added stress was 'unfair'. Gee, I already KNOW I'm behind and trying to figure out how to get caught up and not thrown out and now the Landlord has to let everyone else know? People can be so desperate to feel superior to others, this is all they need!
These days, having to 'depend' on that check coming in the mail (now, direct deposit to the bank) is nerve wracking! Just today on the news there was a report about the 'Rush Card' having a glitch in it's system and many folks that get their benefits on it were 'locked out'! Yeah, like the Landlord is going to say "No problem!" Yikes!
I'm glad to here this situation has been cleared up for you. Now, you should still check to see what resources are available just in case you need them in the future. Being prepared can help keep anxiety and depression at bay. When a storm is approaching, we make sure we have a flashlight, batteries, water, etc. It's the same type of preparations for a different circumstance. Storms come in many forms.
You are not worthless. Point in fact...yesterday, you presented a situation to us, Karen and I found our purpose yesterday, to respond to you, offer support to you, help you through a difficult time. Now, imagine you didn't post your situation. The information in my head would have had no use. The compassion in our hearts would have had no outlet. Your very presence here yesterday had value to us. Then, you came back and shared the solution to your problem. You gave us joy and hope!
This is how this works! We uplifted you in your distress, you uplifted us with your good fortune! There is immeasurable worth in that!
