I've had trouble sleeping, also., and did not want to take a doctor's sleeping pill.
So I went to the health food store. I took Melatonin from the health food store. I got the 1 milligram size, it also has a 3 mg. size, so I guess 3 mgs. must be OK., but I would buy the 1 mil. size in case 1 or 2 mil. is all you need.
I took the 1 mg. size, and it didn't quite put me to sleep, so next night or that night, I took 2 at night. It worked so well I had a hard time getting out of bed in the morning, but it did put me to sleep, which was what I was looking for.
I then cut it with a pill cutter, and took 1 and 1/2 of the 1 mg. pills at night, so I could get up easier the next a.m.
Then I switched to Power to Sleep from the health food store, also. I take one at night, and it puts me to sleep and I don't feel so groggy in the a.m. as the Melatonin did.
Someone on this website mentioned Alteril, a new health food pill for sleeping, which they said was very good. The name Stillnox health food sleep aid was also mentioned on this website.
