Question about using previous meds

Been on Wellbutrin for several years and getting the feeling it's not working as well as it should be.

I have taken Cymbalta, Lexapro, Effexor in times past and had the same thing happen over a period of time. If I wanted to go back to one of these, am I now "immune" to them? Would they not help?

Also, in the newer meds, what seems to be working well?

I guess you would have to try and see under doctor's care of course. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't. It is all trial and error.

Most likely you are not "inmmune" to those meds. I can't explain why, and I don't think anyone could completely explain why, but some of us the combination of meds that work is always a moving target. That is certainly the case with me. Thankfully over the 25 years, my shrink has learned when I'm starting to need a change, even sometimes he can get the needed change correct proactively.

I have gone back to previously used meds. Always at the Doc's direction.

That was answer I was hoping for. I have been down the road with some newer meds and the results were underwhelming. Abilify gave me insomnia that lasted for weeks even after I stopped it. Don't remember SE's near as bad with older generation drugs.

Unless you have had sever side effects, indicating an allergic reaction, most likely you can try them again.
