Pitmom- Kudos to you for speaking your mind. Bullying of any kind is not correct, is a form of abuse. Proud of you for taking a stand.

You may have to do it a few more times, when people see a change in us as we become stronger they don't believe it is happening.

We are having beautiful 70's weather right now and will be for a few days. Knowing summer is coming to an end is sad though, but I am enjoying each day!

Jamie-that dude sounds awful. He might have been having a bad day--but that really seems outside the professional bedside manner. I have had doctors frustrated at times,due to the amount of information I come in with, but that have always been professional about it.

Dang, Pitmom. Wanna come do my house next? I like to read about your flowers. I only do edible flowers--so it is nice to hear of someone doing well with them.

Taught a bunch of classes this morning, did some tutoring, and when BF gets home, I will go and water the garden. I tried to find a zucchini seedling yesterday--I had planted one about a month ago, and it got squashed (ack) during a windstorm. No luck. We have TOO MANY tomatoes. At this point we have a large bowl of romas, which I will use tomorrow in a sausage and pepper pasta sauce, a medium bowl of yellow cherry tomatoes, AND about ten medium to large tomatoes. It is the month of tomatoes with every meal. The insects are awful at this garden site. Seriously bad. Plus--there are disease issues as well. I plan to put down some plastic as I start to clear out the space.

We are going on a (small) vacation next week. It has been three years since I last had one.

i enjoyed that myself. continued healing thoughts for hubby karen. me, been for a longer walk. weather is nice. for winter. done some bare foot grounding. told me sis i am a tad lonely, so i am invited to dinner sometime during the week. other sis down here, says, i will be around tomorrow, but it never happens. she runs around for people like a headless chook!!! needs to be needed. got some rhuemy in right pointer finger......right in the joint. voltaren is helping. been comfort eating.......a tad chaotic. shrink agreed with the gp situation and sayss i need it not. have increased the lamotrogine to a hundred, got bloods to do to make sure i keep in range. been on it before, know how it works.
for short term and to get the motivation happening i am looking into meal replacement shakes. pharmacist says good for short term to get ya happening.

am working on me a bit. good thing. i know what i got to do. bi g things are out there for me, got to keep believing in me and to quote the master........'just do it'. for those not familiar, my little fur ball, in doggie wilderness now, tiny bugger, would keep trying to get on the couch. she would back up, run and not quite make it, i would be, c'mon, just do it buttons and after 30mins she would leap and was so excited she made it up. i take this attitude with me, and remember to keep trying, for your going to make it, just like she did....because she never gave up.

Had a nice weekend. My partner and I have made a commitment to nip negativity in the bud and it's working!

Not sure if my daughter being away had something to do with it. Her habit of not being very helpful during the week and then making a 'show' of it when my partner is here on the weekend to 'witness' it...who knows?

As far as the garden goes...the tomatoes are ripening nicely. So far, I've harvested 7 of the regular sized and dozens of the cherry ones. NO cucumbers though!

The day lilies are officially done. Now, a brief waiting period until the mums begin their show. The attention getters are the potted plants just now. I've grouped them along the front walkway for the most interest. The butterfly bush has pushed out more deep purple blooms and I've moved them to the front of the walk, just past the arch. The tickseeds are continuing to bloom nicely alongside the blanket flowers and yellow cone flowers. I've been being visited by black swallowtail butterflies along with the monarchs.

The canna continue to send up new shoots of blossoms, too. The young 'baby' hibiscus blooms are so pink! I'm so amazed that a 10 inch high plant can produce 8 inch wide flowers! They really brighten up the shaded seating area on the main patio. So glad I rearranged the seating there as the previous arrangement would have blocked the view.

My fountain is 'out of order' for the moment. I had to fill it every day for some reason and then the other day, it was empty in only 2 hours! Today may be the day I deal with that mystery. There's obviously a leak somewhere but with it in the shade, the ground is always a bit damp around it so, where it's leaking has yet to be determined.

The flower colors are a confirmation that summer is winding down. The deep purple morning glories, the golden black eyed susans, even the ripening grasses are starting to show their tawny shadings. Time to start thinking about swapping out the blue cushions for more autumnal colors.
