I am currently on Cymbalta 40 mg for depression. My doctor suggested I try Sam-E 400mg every morning. Been on it a week and waking a little earlier than usual, a but more anxious, a little dizzy, and hands seem to shake a bit more. Anybody experience similar side effects. Most side effects I read about are rare. Not sure I am imagining it or not. Thanks

I have never tried it myself Emotions. I am thinking it is a type of supplement. I will have to look it up as it hasn't been mentioned in awhile.

I hope it works for you. Have you talked to the doc about the side effects you are experiencing? It doesn't sound like much fun. I wonder if it has a stimulant property in it...

Let us know how it goes. Hopefully you will get more responses and I will look it up.

When I looked it up it can cause insomnia, anxiety, stomach issues, headaches. I think is strengthens the antidepressant so feels like increasing my Cymbalta I think.

I take abilify and it makes my antidepressant work better. But abilify is a mood stabilizer. I looked up Sam-e, I didn't see anything other than what you already posted. It kept saying it was "safe". I don't have much knowledge about it. So I am not help. I would talk to your doc though and ask if the side effects will subside. What you said makes a lot of sense though. That it is making it feel like an increase in the Cymbalta.

I hope that the side effects go away. And I hope you feel better from taking it.

Oh I took ability to increase the antidepressant effects... 4 mg but I felt kind of out of it and out of body feeling so I stopped.. Took it for three weeks. Lat week started to feel a little better but then the Sam-E this week seems to have caused some of the symptoms I wrote about.

I want to tell you these effects will go away. But I don't know much about the supplement. Maybe give it a little more time and see if they subside.

Thanks so much...I fear the anxiety and sleep issues will get worse and I don't do very well with that...was making headway so I decided to stop...going to see what I feel like the next few days. Lots of prayers!

sam-e is expensive and only useful for mild depression. not a fan of it.

thank you. Of course after I bought it I stopped.Think it really messed things up for me. Now feeling more anxious....had a few weeks of not feeling that way...ugh
