If a person loses his voice, he can no longer sing. If a person loses his legs, he can no longer walk. If a person loses his sight and hearing, he can no longer see and hear. Likewise, when a person loses his happy emotions due to clinical depression or any other factor, he can no longer love, have joy, or value anything in his life as beautiful, good, amazing, awesome, magnificent, etc.
My point is, loving someone, having joy, and valuing things in our lives is something that can be taken away from us and isn't something we can have all we want. Since happy emotions (a.k.a. positive emotions/pleasant emotions) are very fleeting things, then that makes the situation all the more worse.
Positive emotions are the only things that can make life and any artistic endeavor good, beautiful, and worth living for. Nothing can convince me otherwise. The only thing that will convince me would be a new personal experience that brings my life beauty, worth, and joy besides my positive emotions. So far, I haven't had such an experience. Not even in one single, given, brief moment of my entire life.
