Karen- So glad that Luna is mending nicely. The behaviorist sounds like a good idea. Or maybe fashion a cone type thing for her tail so she can't get at it. Stay strong.

Rrammka- I am not sure that I could be as understanding in your place, atleast not at first. I agree that you have been amazing but not dealing with your loss is not good for your mental health. I know that being there for your ex is important to you, but you must deal with this so you can help your ex. I hope you will deal with your feelings and your loss so you can be friends. Be strong.

Trina- I am no warrior that's for sure, but thank you for saying so. I keep going as I do not know how to stop, it's just not in me.

My update is I have bronchitis, well allergic bronchitis, ugh so my lungs are sore but I caught it before it got bad and went to my doctors and he said what I kinda knew already. So darn it. But the best news is my dad issue is being fixed on Friday and I am so happy and relieved about that. So hope all is well and stay safe

My anxiety has been creeping back up lately. I've been watching the news about Covid19 rising in some states and this has me on edge.

I think it's time for me to limit the news again. I spoke with my therapist and nurse practitioner about stopping my meds, but they helped me to realize that it might for me to take them a little while long, given the upheaval the whole world seems to be in.

I thought 2020 would be a good year, but it sucks. I'm hoping things get better.

Our summer weather has been avoiding us here also. It is nice in the morning and cloudy with rain in the afternoons. I just made my bed, put away my laundry and cleaned off one end table. Clearly just a little too much for my shoulder so I am taking a break. I can get my right hand far enough forward to type on the lap top which is great.

Time to tackle the coffee table. All the flat surfaces in my house are clutter collectors.

Kathy I am so glad you are recovering well. This is always good.
Flat surfaces are annoying clutter magnets, I am right with you, close to hoarding fabric and thread on my down stairs table, endtable and coffee table, ironing board and 2 chairs. Making masks...

This keeps me busy, out of my own head. I do take time for me though not enough.
Sewing for a friend, 15-30 mins in the garden every couple days. and art. Journaling has slowed, recently
perked up.

Forever and Karen, 2020 has been a tough year But there are good things happening too. We just have to find the happenings. For me, I am becoming, inch by inch more independent.

FP - you can get a mouth guard designed for football players at Walmart for $3. They also sell "fancier" ones in the pharmacy department for $25. $400 is ridiculous . The only reason you might need a custom designed mouth guard is if you have chronic TMJ problems or the dentist has to make a boat payment

It's like my optometrist who took a picture of the inside of my eyelids so he could tell me I needed a procedure with his new machine to do something to the tear glands so I might not get dry eyes as I age. This cost $600. Liquid Tears are a lot cheaper. Or the doctor up at the veterinary college where I took my dog to figure out why he limped who actually told me they had this cool new combination PET/CT scanner that they wanted to try out because it was their new toy, only it would cost me another $1200. (I took the dog to another vet who diagnosed him with his hands).

I'm sorry, I get all revved up about things like this because I have spent most of my career trying to figure out how to get things done for people who have no money. Anyway, I guess it's a good sign that I have enough energy to get hacked off, eh?

So I accidentally over did it today. I went to walmart with my folks and now my gosh I am super worn out, dang bronchitis needs to go away. I did get a couple new shirts so that was nice of them. I am going to lay down for a little while. Hope all is well.

Was hot here today. Supposed to keep getting hotter each day. I am not good in cold but I am not good in heat either. Today was sweltering. It seems to get about ten degrees warmer than what is predicted.

I went to the dollar store today. That's kind of a big deal for me because I don't get out much. But bought stuff I shouldn't of. I did need coffee and creamer but didn't need cookies and twinkies. If you all know what I mean. They sell cookies that are just like the girl scout cookies but way cheaper. For a box of the thin mint type ones it costs just a couple of dollars. They have them at walmart too even cheaper.

I know what you mean Forever about working from home and no social activity. I don't go out a lot anyway but knowing I shouldn't made it much more difficult. It made me want to go out that much more after awhile. I think it is all psychological for me. But I can see where you would miss going to work and the interaction of coworkers. And I have had way more pajama days than ever. Lately I have been getting dressed just to feel better.

Yes, you are lucky. There are some who lost jobs. Though in Michigan they have made it easy to collect unemployment. So that is a good thing. Even people who work for cash. I am glad you still have an income. And I hope it continues to stay that way for you. Have a good one.

JD8505, I am glad you got to get out with your family. And that you got a couple new shirts. That is always fun. I like shopping at Walmart too for clothes. A few years back they had shorts (denim, some looked like cut offs) for a real good price. I think I bought five pair. I still have three left. And I honestly don't know where two of them went. But it has been years so who knows.

I hope that your bronchitis is clearing up. I hope you are feeling better...

You are right, we have to find the good things happening. Though it becomes hard with so much not so good stuff going on. Cheers for you with the way you regulate your time. You always accomplish so much though and I wish I could do just a fraction of what you do.

Hello all!

Another beautiful day up here. I walked around the lake, about 2.5 miles in all. Not too crowded today and the wild roses are blooming. There are a bunch of mature yellow shrub roses in the old part of town that are really vibrant this year, too. I keep meaning to take cuttings but then forget. I crocheted one round of a granny square, just to see if I could do it and it wasn't too bad. I'll have to start working on my endurance. (Crochet as a sport, there's a concept!)

Jamie so sorry you are down. Perhaps he is waiting to find out location and prices on parts.
Can you call Mark or the mate that helped you take there? Or call the mechanic and ask the status.?

We always want this things done fast. Life does not cooperate most of the time.

Pitmom, glad to hear you and your daughter are doing better.
You might think about setting up a signal, our father would keep the drapes in the living room closed. When he was up, the drapes were open and we could go in. This was while he was well. Matter of respect.

Plus, maybe take a step back and ponder the fact that you have family that wants to be part of you life. There are people, that have no family, not one person to count one, no one for an emergency contact.
Just saying.

Kathy, granny squares!!! I was thinking about this last night, crocheting relaxes me. One thing I need to practice is the these. Thank you for the reminder, I have a note on the refrigerator.

Gettingby, I know what you mean about pajamas days. When my depression was at it worse, I stayed in my pj's all the time, but I'm glad you're forcing yourself to get dress-it makes a difference. I've even heard of women putting on makeup, despite being in lockdown, to make themselves feel better.

I love the dollar store. However, I buy everything when I'm there. Lol. How is Luna doing? Has she adjusted to her new tail?

Buena, I haven't crochet a granny square in years. I find granny squares to be tedious. I agree with BnotAfriad that crochet is relaxing. I mostly crochet purses and other types of handbags though occasionally I'll crochet hats and scarves.

I noticed many of my friends and relatives starting gardens although they never had a green thumb before. It's kind of amusing, but nice to see them take such pride in their gardens. If I had yard, I would start a garden as well, particularly a herb garden.

Going to start stocking up on can goods again. I don't know what's going to happen, so I want to be prepare.
