You have alot on your plate. Your brain is overloaded with so much information. Honey, you don't have to keep up with the Jones's. You have already surpassed them. You are only 24 and look what you have already achieved. This would be taxing on anyone. The smartest people in the world suffer from some memory loss. They have so much information and knowledge, but couldn't tell you where they put their keys, or what day of the week it is.
My sister is getting her PhD and masters in the medical field. You are doing the same thing she tends to do in comparing herself to others and feelings of insecurity. She has been published many times. There is a patent pending on one of her discoveries regarding cervix cancer. You, like my sister tend to compare yourself with your colleages and piers. But if you look at the big picture and compare yourself to the rest of the world, you will find that you exceed the success of most. I'm proud of you. Continue on your path. You are King Jones, my dear. People praise you already but you just aren't seeing it yet. Breath in your successes and don't change the wonderful man you have become. I applaud you.
Regarding social situations, it would do you some good to find a source of relaxation. Pick one day a week (or a block of time), and make it King Jones Day. Right now your state of mind is work and your studies. That will be on your mind. So talk about it a bit... so what. Don't hide your thoughts. You have a beautiful mind. Surround yourself with people that share your intellect, interests and dilligence for success.
By the way, NO ONE has a perfect life. We portray only what we wish others to see. We all share troubles and hard times. You are definately not alone in this. Don't let people's fecade full you. They are no different, I assure you. Most will look at you and compare themselves to YOU with great envy. They will think "wow, why can't I be focused and be an achiever like this man(you)". Many skate through life with no goals. Of course they seem happy and care free. I'm very proud of you. You will do very well in life.
