i bin to many psyciatris, if its the first time he might ask you about
life in general such as childhood, or if you were abused by someone, maybe also ask about
any major events in your life such as some relative passing away that affected you.
he may ask if your life is on track, if your addicted to something, maybe ask about
your marrage and work
but if its not your first time with the doctor he would probably ask how you feel etc

Oh... i feel stupid... i didn't realize a psychotherapist was same thing as a psychiatrist... lol i been to many of those also... It's like going to regular therapy except they generally less interested in talking and all and want to know mainly about
moods and feelings as their sessions are normally more medicine based... Anyway... Good luck again...

No, Psychotherapy is completely different then seeking treatment from a Psychiatrist. Psychotherapy almost like going to a counselor or therapist. It is just a different form of therapy.

Morning second day on Zoloft today i fell ill, sick to my stomach and threw up, i have read that one of the side effects from this med is uoset stomach so i am hoping that it will go away in couple more days. As for weepy i am a bit weepy again probably becuase of the meds but if it continues for more than a week i calling my pysch and maybe zoloft is not right for me, also to cipralex is leaving me as well so my body is trying to adjust. The next couple of days are going to be hell but i am going to take it easy as best as i can, even weepiness and all it is a good release to cry so as long as it doesn;t take control all day, i know that i can request my hubbt to take me to the hospital if i really need to. Anyway sorry for the rambling take care Twiggy2.

Hi Twiggy, I was on Zoloft for several years and did really well on it. I can tell you that when you start on it you should expect that it will take more than a few days to see any effect. It takes 4-6 weeks to reach its therapeutic level and really start to work to its full effect. I don't know if your on any other medications or not or if this is having in impact on how your feeling. Starting new medications is hard and waiting for them to kick in to the desired effect. Please do let us know how you are doing...

To tell you the truth I really dont remember if I did cry alot or not when I started on it...if I did it would of been because of my depression not from the medication. I took it two different times for several years so it was a while ago....Hang in there

I went to see my pyschotheropist today and he said is sounds like alot of anxiety issues, also to i went to my pyschologist and he said that it can take 4 weeks for Zoloft to really kick so be patient and the side effects will probably last 4 weeks as well, So in the mean time taking it easy and working on not getting upset. Hope that all is well within a few more days Let u know Twiggy2.

hey Twiggy,
how you feeling?
If you are taking valerian root insead of ativan for now and it helps why not try
eliminating the ativan for a while. Give it a shot ! One less drug in your system.
Also for me. When I try a medication and have uncomfortable side I try something else.
There are too many other drugs. that is why PHARMACOLOGIST is the way to go.
They're expertise is pharmacuticals.
good luck

Twiggy,
I was thinking about
you condition and for some reason i think your afraid and unsecure cause you are trying a new medicine. we have an old saying "if your afraid from something it will happen or come" i think the symptums could be from something else not zoloft, because you are afraid and don't feel comfortable about
the drug. so the more you worry about
it the more painfull it will become. so you have to relax and take deep breath and build your confidence in your self, you can do it.
I don't know if you can understand my point, since my english is a little poor. hope this helps you.
in any case i wish you will get well and put this behind you.

I do understand what you are saying thank you for your reply, I don;t mind the Zolft except for the side effects that i have with it other than that it;s ok, i get a little emotional on it but that will pass as i get used to i guess if not then this is not the right med for me i will try something else. Anyway what med do you take if you don'd mind me asking take care talk to ya later Twiggy2

Some of the time i to feel that i cannot sit still but as you said i think it has something to do with the meds and will soon be under under control i think it;s an anxiety thing but not sure way what three meds did they prescibe and did you find that they work well take care Twiggy2
