Hello!
I am a new memeber here, and this is my first time as a member of a depression message board.
I have been battling with depression for several years. My recent bout has been going on for about 3 years!!
I too have been on the medication roller coaster, trying all sorts of AD's without much luck. (Although I have given none more than 3 months trial)
My background:
10 years ago had acute bout of depression related to life events. Lasted for about 9 months and was "cured" by Zoloft @ 100mgs over 3 months. Was depression-free for 7 years.
3 years ago I suffered my second bout of depression and have not since recovered, although this seems very mild in comparison to my first bout. This time I also have suffered from a chronic daily tension headache and neck/upper backache. Have tried Zoloft again, but could not tolerate the side-effects after only 4 days. Also have tried Prozac @ 20mgs with minor effect.
What I am wondering is, is tension headache a common symptom of major depression or is this very uncommon?
I am very fit and work out 3-4 times per week. I am an avid heavy weight lifter, so there is some concern it is a physical injury incurred by this. But, I have been x-ray'd and mri'd to death only to have no answers other than "everything looks good".
I can think of no better place to get an answer than here!
My doctor said headache dose go's with it. I have somany things i could not tell what go's with what.
