It has been a while since i have posted here, my hubby has pd and severe depression, er visit

last night due to hallutinations all weekend, he is seeing people that are not really there,

not talking to them just seeing them, called my father as i was not home and said that there was

a ladys head on the front porch and rest of her was beside the house, then later called and sd that

that there were 3 empty chairs there and they had taken his glasses from him and wouldnt give them back. he is 47 years old, been diagnosed with pd for abt a year and half, took psych testing

and they seem to think very severe depression, or possibly sudo-dementia, does anyone have any info for me on hallucinations and dementia? anything would help.

his meds are: cymbalta, mirapex, buspar, and a sleeping pill, doctors dont seem to think med related?

Hi jules,  I am so sorry for what you and your husband are going through.  I am 32 have been diagnosed with a parkinson's type disorder called MSA this past January.  I am not taking any medicaitons for it as I also have MS so I take a bunch of meds for that already.  I have bouts of low blood pressure and when that happens I do have hallucinations which are extremely scary not only for me but for my family as well.  Depression is going to be a big side effect with this type of illness but I would really suggest consulting with a Movement Disorder Specialist and getting a second opinion on his medicaiton regime before you take any further steps.  I would be willing to bet money that it is his PD meds that is causing the problems and there needs to be an adjustment or change to them.  There is lots of great information on the parkinson's site if you want to check it out...they tend to be a bit slower over there then we are here but they are very knowledgeable and should be able to give you some recommendations.  Please let us know how he is doing...Take care

thanks for your input , i did post on pd site this am, will see what happens, i am being told that with severe depression that you can hallucinate, he also is so confused and can not comprehend even the most simple instructions. i try so hard to be patient, but this is truly taking a toll on me, as i work a fulltime job and also a part time job abt 60 to 70 hrs a week total, but hubby is not able to work and have been turned down for ssdi 2 times, we now have an attorney but sd it takes 12 to 16 months before a hearing!!!! WHAT IS A PERSON SUPPOSE TO DO? this man obviously can not work. are there any tricks to getting an earlier hearing date? we have letters from 3 docs that state he not work due to depression .
