Hello I usually hang out in the anxiety formun but i'm starting to notice i'm feeling pretty depressed so I thought I would come over to this site. I've been having horrible anxiety since the beginning of this summer and i'm afraid it's turning into major depression. I just have no energy and feel blah alot of the times lately. I'm so tired most of the time and just wish I could sleep. It's such a scary feeling. I tried taking paxil again for the second time and had horrible side effects and i'm terrified to take anything else. I"m just on anti-anxiety meds right know. Well I guess I just needed to vent the mix between the anxiety and depression is bringing me down so much.

Hi Georgia
Ive ssen your posts in anxiety-welcome to this forum.
Have you ever tried any other antidepressants apart from paxil?? I take lexapro and that helps a lot with my anxiety and depression. Maybe you could talk to your doctor about
other meds.
You are welcome to post here anytime-we are all here for you and will support you in any way we can.
Take care

You can vent all you need to, m'dear. We're here to listen and to support you. I'm new here, too, and I can't begin to describe the comfort I feel in knowing that I'm a part of a community that really, truly cares.
As far as medication is concerned, my doctor put me on Zoloft...she said it would help with both depression and anxiety. Maybe it's something that could work for you? I haven't been taking it that long, so I can't speak with any kind of personal authority, but it's a thought. Talking to your doctor about
a switch (like Victoria suggested) is definitely a good idea.
I hope you feel a little better in the days to come, Georgia...and know that we're all here rooting for you.

Not all antidepressants are created equal. I refused to take Paxil and refused to have my daughter take it because of all the weird stuff they found out about
it and how difficult it usually is to get off of it. There are several other antidepressants that may work well for you so try it, it has to be better than what you are going through now. Talk to y our doctor.

Hi Geaorgia!
I have anxiety/depression. I take low doses of Zoloft (for depression)and Klonopin ( for anxiety). This works for me, but everyone is different. I hope you find what will work for you. There are many different meds out there to try.
The Best, Dee

Hi Georgia,
I come to this board as well as the anxiety-panic board a lot too. -- It really helps to be able to do this. Anxiety/panic and depression often go together -- oh yes, I've got it. Lucky us, eh -- 2 for the price of one?!?! Have you talked to your doc about
this? I'm currently on citalopram (Celexa), which is used for anxiety/panic and depression disorders and seems to do the trick for me. Life stressors still turn up (biggy over the last couple of days), but I cope with them much better now.
Big hugs Georgia -- with you 100%.

Hi Georgia,
The anxiety drains you emotionally. I’m dealing with that too.
My anxiety has weakened, my depression strengthened. I’m grateful the anxiety is better, but the depression frightens me.
I hope everything starts to calm down for you soon.
