I just recieved a letter from ssi saying that my husbands hearing has been scheduled for 10/12/06! yeah!!!!!!! I am so nervous and anxious now that I can not stand it, what can we expect at the hearing? Can anyone give some insight please? my hubby has parkinsons and psychotic depression i just dont know what to expect.

Hi Jules,

I don't know much about these personally, but there were a couple of people in the a-p forum who had these types of hearings so it might be worth asking about this there too.

Only a couple of weeks, Jules!  Great!

Along with our attorney, I accompanied my husband when he went before a judge to appeal the rejection from SSD.  The judge looked over all the paperwork, medical reports, etc, asked a couple of questions, and said the claim was approved.  We were in and out in less than a half an hour.

I'm sure every case is different, and every judge is different, but the case was well documented and our attorney was excellent.  It didn't take long before the first check arrived, and (a biggie for us) the Medicare card. 

Hopefully your struggles with SSDI are near an end.   :-)

thnks for your replies, i am just so nervous!!!!! I AM SCARED TO DEATH THAT WE ARE GOING TO HAVE TO GO THROUGH THE RINGER WITH THE JUDGE, hopefully not , i just pray that he is understanding and not hard core please keep us in your prayers

Will keep thinking of you and keeping fingers crossed for you for this: I know how important it is. Sounds like you're very well prepared though, and from what I've read that's *really* key.
