Just a non - med suggestion.....
I was having terrible trouble sleeping and sleeping tablets only gave me a couple of hours, but my OT gave me a meditation tape, and went through it with me, which helped me heaps. I'd tried other ones before but this one really focussed on deep breathing first and then slowly focussing on each part of your body, starting from the feet and working up. I find I'm now asleep before the tape's finished and hardly ever have to use it now.
It's also good for helping with pain..... I just find spending a few minutes sitting quietly and doing deep breathing and focussing on the affected muscles or pain area then "letting go" of the tension assists me. Good luck - we all need our sleep.
