Hi elc, I never thought I had restless leg syndrom until my psychiatrist appt the other day when I told my doc my symptoms...I have trouble sleeping and he has been trying to help me with that. I have MS and have ALOT of muscle spasms and these really weird zapping, almost like bugs crawling under my skin in my back, legs, and feet whenever I sit still. This doesnt only happen at night though it happens all the time.
So, my neurologist has been thinking it is a MS symptom and was treating it with Neurontin which helped for a while. After a few years I switched to Lyrica which after a few months has lost its effect now. So my psychiatrist is thinking it may actually be restless leg syndrom...however, there is no test for this.
I have been taking antidepressants for years and have worked in the mental health field for just as many years. I havent taken Celexa...I am on Effexor XR now. I have never heard of an antidepressant making RLS worse. Perhaps, you should speak to the physician who has prescribed the Celexa and see what they think. Let us know...take care
