Hello and welcome!
I wanted to say that I really like your screen name JustBeingMe and that I too have been on amounts of psychotropic medication that I know exeeded the recommened dosage, and have never had a problem. I would agree with Els that you might try switching pharmacies. The staff persons really shouldn't be harassing you like that.
I also wanted to ask if you have been doing therapy alongside the medications. I'm am a little biased I admit, ... but I tend to beileve that meds alone are not nearly as helpful as with weekly or biweekly therapy sessions. If you wanted to try looking into counceling as an option, which I would recommened... there is a new website up called http://goodtherapy.org, which has a free index of therapists organized by location.
I am bipolar myself and I would swear up and down to anyone, that the therapy that helped me more than any of the medications ever could. Once you stop taking the meds...things go back to the way they were before... not so with therapy. Therapy done right, equipts the you with coping skills and a new persepctive you use for life. Meds give you a head start, a stable environment in which to help yourself heal. In other words, I beileve that meds help you along the way to healing yourself...and I would be suspicious of anyone tells you that medication alone is a cure all.
Well, sorry about the rant... and again, welcome to the site!
