The news from my surgeon isn`t so good i still have the cancer and have now been referred to an oncologist for furthur treatment .I have to now have radiation treatment to see if it can be stopped ,i`m so frightened .Hubby will drive me down to where i am getting the tream=tment but he will leave me there so i will be on my own the whole time .three weeks by myself in a big city not  a good thing . After talking to a social worker from the oncology unit she wants me admitted to a private hospital while i have the treatment  i`m not sure what to do .

today i was so stressed out  i had a hair appointment at the hair dressers and by the time it was time to go i had such an upset tummy it wasn`t funny  .i have tried using the stress ball to focus my energy but it doesn`t seem to help .I know things are getting out of hand and i just feel that it`s taking over now .

Restless, Checking into the private hospital might be a better option for you. That way you are under constant care.
I am very sorry that your husband is not stepping up to the plate,I wish your daughter would be there for you.

Hi there,

Im sorry that things have not gone as well as you wanted them to but it sounds like there has been an improvement and that is something that I am glad for. Its great that your husband is being so supportive as well. Have the hospital told you what sort of chances there are of the radiation clearing everything up? Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers and we will give you all the support you need.

shy i wish she would too but her partener has two small kids and she is there for them now . my other daughter told me she hopes i don`t come home and the boys are good but not the ones as they are a lot like their dad .
The social worker doesn`t want me to be by myself as she is concerned for my safety we had a good talk last week too bad she will not be there to talk to while i`m down there .

darren all they have told me is that this is the only option i have as if i have anymore surgery it would be to disfiguring i just hope that this works as i do not want anymore of my face chopped up .

Dear restless,

I am sorry that you are facing this treatment but I will pray that it is the one that makes the big difference.

I agree, you may be better checked into the hospital where you will be with people.  I am sure they would let you go out on passes if your feeling up to it.

If you were in my neck of the woods, I would visit. :)

I am really sorry that you are going to have to go through this treatment alone.  Would you be willing to let one of the moderators know the name and address of the hospital you will be in so we can send you cards while you are there.  That way, if you are not comfortable with everyone knowing who you are and where you are, we could just all send cards to a moderator who might be willing to forward them on to you.  At least you could know we are thinking of you.

I think this is a nice idea BUT I dont want Restless to fel pressured in ANY WAY to reveal contact details to ANYONE. Also bear in mind that if (For example) the cards were sent to me, the majority would need to be sent abroad to the UK and then I would have to send them abroad to Australia. Also to forward cards, you don't need a full name... simply an initial and surname. E.g. J Smith.

If you decide to go ahead with this Restless, I would be happy to forward the cards but E-Mail your contact details. DO NOT post them on the forum. (For your own safety).

Grr at your daughter. I am sure she does not mean it,and someday she will regret how mean and nasty she was to you.

You have been through so much,and it breaks my heart to hear how your family is just letting you do it alone. I don't understand at all. Sometimes families can suck that is for sure.

Please keep us posted as much as you can. And for now,why don't you think about doing something nice for you for once? At some point if your family is going to just worry about them,then it is time to show them the same courtesy I think.


We are all here for you as much as we can be via the internet ok?

I agree with Darren that you definitely should not post your information on the forum, I didn't think that even needed to be said.  I don't want you to feel pressured at all either.  If you would like to receive cards from us while you are in the hospital, it might be easier if one of the moderators in the U.S. were willing to do it so it wouldn't take so long to get to you.  I would be more than happy to do this, but I thought you might feel more comfortable with a moderator doing this.

If you are not comfortable with this, please know that we will be praying for you and thinking about you.  Maybe you will be able to get to a computer at the hospital.

thankyou all you are ALL really wonderful .
Well the news after seeing the specialist yesterday only got worse this one thinks i have cancer in my mouth now .WHAT MORE CAN GO WRONG .So today i have a very sore mouth with a few stitches where he did a biopsy it`s all swollen and so painful .But thankheavens i can just type to you i don`t have to talk it`s so much easier .
Thank you Darren i would love to hear from you it will give me something to look forward to i will send my address through in an email .
Many thanks to everyone in this forum for your support and kind words it has really meant a lot to me when i have had nothing else to even look forward to .

Hi there sweetie.  I am sorry you had to have a mouth biopsy.  I actually had an Aunt with this very same cancer.

Will you have a computer with you while your in the hospital, a laptop.  It would be wonderful if you did so you can stay in touch with us.  That maybe what you can splurge on for you..............charge it to your family  lol.

Im so sorry that things have started to go down hill again. It is a possibility that the biopsy will come back benign(sp). It could be a very simple routine removal. Try to stay positive and take small steps. Dont try and run before you can walk!

I would be honoured to be the one who forwards the cards etc to you. Can anyone who is interested in sending something please contact me by email so that I can give you an intermediate address.

StKitt i am going to be taking my lap top with me as most of the friends i have are behind the screen ie cyber friends .
and seeing i pay the account it`s all ok i will make sure it`s payed in advanced so i have no worries with it .
I have emailed my address to darren and just want to thank him for doing this for me i really appreciate it a lot .

Today my mouth is very swollen and badly bruised ,i`m feeling a bit down but the nerves are getting to me a bit .It`s much too sunny to get out in my garden so will let that go for a while .Think i will have to pay my youngest to care for it while i`m away as i don`t want them all to die on me .
Thankyou all for your positive thoughts and prayers .
Will drop in another time ,take care one and all and stay safe .

thanks darren ( hug ) as for my garden i can only hope i don`t think he will over charge he`s a good kid most of the time ( boys being boys )
Today i feeling really down moreso than usual but my mouth is quite sore still isn`t healing all that well .
Hubby returned from being away and all i want is for him to give me a big hug but i know i will be waiting a while for that to happen , i just want to feel safe from everything and everyone .
not to worry think i will just go off to bed instead with the help of a couple of sleepers tonight .i need something .

I have communicated with Darren and he was planning to pay all the postage himself (he's such a good guy) but I came up with a better idea since he is a college student. Put your card for Restless in the envelope it comes in with $1.50 worth of postage on it, then enclose it in another envelope addressed to Darren.  You can email him for that address.  I think it's o.k. to include your return address on your card (if you like) to Restless in the event she ever feels the need to write anyone while she is there, but this does not put any pressure on her.

Let's get started since the mailing process is going to take some time to actually get the cards to Restless.

well tomorrow i head to the big smoke for treatment these past few days i have been so worried about it all and if i could i would just stay home but i know thats not the way ..
This afternoon i recieved news a friend online lost her little daughter last night she was only twelve it`s everso sad to hear and my heart goes out to the family who will miss their little angel so much .
I just want to go to sleep and not wake up i`m just so tired and having a bad migraine hasn`t helped at all .
My depression has not been so good with everything just hope i can cope with this .
Ok i have to go i just wanted to thank everyone here who has given words of encouragement over the past feww months i really appreciate it all . Hugs to everyone .

Thank you all you are all so wonderful .

This morning i arrived here but wasn`t long before i was in tears i walked into the dining room and walked out again i just feel as though it can`t do this .I`m so alone frightened and there are just so many people here .I went over to see the dr at the hospital where the treatment is going to take place only to find out the dr forgot to tell them i was coming so now everything has been put back until thursday when i have my planning day ( there they map my face and decide where the treatment will be done ) and i was told the most probably won`t start treatment until next monday so that means now i have to say here even longer .

I just can`t be around other people especially now my anxiety level is through the roof and i loose everything ever so easy .

I`m just sitting up here by myself it`s all i can do at the moment .
