Unresponsive chronic pain with brain fog, stomach pain and Depression.

It sounds so much like fibromyalgia. Where is your pain located? The brain fog goes right along with the fibro. The pain can actually be so intense that even looking at food makes you nauseated.

The doctors always want to blame pain on depression when they can't find out the cause. It seems that they just want to label you instead of trying to help you. I had to go to the Pain Clinic at Duke University. The doctor there kept putting me on all kinds of depression meds for the back pain. When nothing worked or the meds made me totally loopy, she informed me that I would just have to "deal with my pain." When I finally found a doctor who would do an MRI, they found 4 ruptured discs, nerve root com-
pression and a host of other things causing the pain that the doctor told me to "deal with." I wrote her a nasty letter enclosing the report and told her that I hoped she never had to "deal with pain" like I had been forced to do while being labeled by her that nothing was wrong with me.

I have chronic pain from herniated discs in my back and neck. Plus it has just been discovered that I have developed Tarlov cysts on my lower spine. The pain from that alone has been unbelievable. My pain has not responded to any medication except Methadone. I was only on 5 mgm. once a day but stopped it because of the side-effects. I've been tried on so many things with no relief at all. My problem is that I can not be on any continous meds as we are raising a 6 year old grandchild. I can't be on anything that will make me sleepy during the day.

It is so difficult to be in chronic pain with no relief. While I try to stay busy to keep my mind off the pain, sometimes it about sends me over the edge.
