Med Changes are getting the best of me

Wow...talk about mood swings.

I'm slowing going off Effexor and it's not pretty. 

The first week, it was 225mg Efx and 10mg of Prozac...everything was great.  Really didn't notice a change at all. 

Second week, it's 150mg Efx and 10mg Prozac....and I'm angry as a pent up snake.  Ready to bite anyone and everyone's head off.  I'm also forgetful in my train of thought.  But darn does everything tick me off.

Next week, I'll be 75mg Efx and 20mg Prozac...wonder how that's going to turn out sad

Then after that week, all Prozac...YIKES!

(maybe I'm bipolar confused )

Your body is adjusting to the med change. Be very careful ,and if you feel that it is too much to handle then I would contact your doctor right away.

Did they tell you how long the mood changes were going to last in their opinion?

No not at all, I don't even remember her saying anything about the mood swings. She said to call her immediately if I was talking and "not making any sense" or if I had suicidial thoughts. Luckily, my brain is stronger than that....yes, I wish I wasn't here, but I'm not going to do anything about it.

My next appt is Dec 5.

I'm really a bear right now. I'm full of road rage, stupidity rage, why can't I get anything done rage, and oh my god what is going to happen when my boss/bf gets back and nothing has shipped....it's not MY fault.

But yes, the rage inside of me is just overwhelming at times....I refuse to do another co-workers job (she's been out for 2 days) b/c I hate it and it's stressful. I'm being looked down upon b/c I'm not helping. Screw them....

I'm shutting up for now.

Hopefully the rage will start to go away when you are fully on Prozac and off the Effexor. Have you explained to your boss that you are changing AD's and it can cause modd swings? They might be more sympathetic if they know that you are having a tough time.

Like Darren said hopefully the rage will go away once the meds have taken full effect.
But I also have a feeling that you are basically saying enough is enough. And at some point you know that things need to change.

Take it one day at a time,and remember you are only one person....

So this med change is crazazy!

Last week was GRRRREEEEEEEEAAAATTT!!!  all happy and restless yeah

Now, I'm all moody again nono ...I have made the switch to all Prozac and I can so feel the difference.  I'm also having withdrawals from the Effexor...if that continues I will call my dr so she can put me on 37.5 for a week to help... but WOW what a difference....

I hope that I don't stay moody like this sad

I was wondering how you were doing.

UGH at med changes!!!!!!!! They are so hard,and all you want to do is feel better!! (I started to type normal,but at this point I am not sure myself what normal is ;) )

Give it some more time,I am glad that you are staying in contact with your doctor...

How is everything else going?

Hi Shy~

I finally made a decision and I'm going home for Christmas, about 5 days total. I'm looking forward to it, finally.

The boyfriend/boss thing is really weird. I'm home alone while he's out with friends and family ALL the time. I still don't know what to do....I think he's a crutch at the moment.

Like I said, last week was great. But yesterday and today I have no urge to do anything....I need to do laundry since last week....the dog seems to have to go out all the time but she just wants to play, I just want to sleep....

My only neighbor that I felt comfortable to talk to moved. His and my dog used to play together so that always helped with her energy....

I feel sad today, but can't pin point the problem. confused too.

Thanks for asking, I do appreciate it.

(oh yeah, I had another dr appt yesterday, a follow up on something else and that jerk of a b/f hasn't even asked me how it went.....and he knows how important it was to me....oh well...jerk)

Hi there

Again you can do better,and you deserve better!!!

I think it will do you good to see your family,let loose and be yourself for awhile.

You have to make your own decision when it comes to your boyfriend,just remember that you deserve to be happy ok?

How did that Dr appt go? do you feel comfortable with him/her?

That appt went okay...same as to be expected.

Let go of yourself...I think I forgot who I am....this depression thing SUCKS!!

I had to start taking the 37.5 Effexor b/c I was having too many withdrawls from it....I'm scared to go off of it again in a few days....maybe I'll wait til I get home....my mood will be much better and plenty of food.

How's life for you?

Hi there

I am glad that the med problems are settling down,just take it slow with that. And quite frankly until you figure out what to do with your life,once you are ok with the meds then you might not want to change the combo.

When do you leave for your parents?

Life is ok,work and getting ready for Christmas... thanks for asking!
