Hi all, I am new here.  I have suffered with a chronic illness for 5 years, and because of this my depressioin has gotten so bad I cannot even go to church anymore.  I am loosing faith of ever gettign well, and I am a strong believer and used to have a lot of faith, but this past year I have been getting worse and worse and am loosing my patience and my mind and everyday seems like another hell to walk through.  Any hugs would be appreciated I cannot believe someone has to suffer like this.  Thank you for listening

Hi Gabbs,

I am sending (((((((((HUGS)))))))))) your way. I know that it is frustrating suffering with depression, especially when you can't do the things that you enjoy. Can I ask what your chronic illness is. I suffer with fibromyalgia, and it is horrible. You never know what you will be able to do from one day to the next. Or how much pain and fatigue you will have to deal with.

Hi there and Welcome to Healingwell,

I am glad that you have found us. We are like a big family here and we all look after and support each other through the hard times. I think that is what makes HealingWell so popular.

I too have a chronic illness. I suffer from epilepsy and it is very unpredictable at times so I can understand how frustrating it can be at times. We have some members who have lost faith due to depression and refound it so please dont think this is the end of the road. There is light at the end of the tunnel. I jus cant tell you how long the tunnel is.

Thanks so much for repying :)  It helps to know I am not alone.  I have been suffering with gastroparesis and GERD for 4 years now, and it has not gotten better only worse.  I really thank you for listening i feel so alone with this...thank you

Hi Gabby,

You are definately not alone. We are all here for you. Just keep posting when you feel the need. There will always be somebody here for you.

On the fibromyalgia forum there are a couple of threads about gastroparesis. You should read them. I think there is two or three threads started. It seems to be a common issue for some of the people on the fibro forum. You would probably find the threads interesting to read.

I hope that you are feeling a little better than you were. I hope that we can find the words to help you. Take care and keep posting.

Hi there,

As Karen has said, you are certainly not alone. We have over 53,000 members on healingwell in total and Depression is one of the biggest forums. Have you looked at the GERD forum? Here is the link if you have not: https://www.healingwell.com/community/default.aspx?f=45 They provide some really great support over there as well. You may also find some support for the gastroparesis as well since I am guessing (no, really... I am guessing!) that the 2 go hand in hand.
