Wellbutrin?

Wellbutrin is the antidepressant that finally worked for me. It was the 4th one my doctor had tried. I liked it. It didn't make me feel like I wasn't me and the sexual side effects were pretty much non existent. It made me feel better in general and it really helped me thru my hard time. It took me about a good month at least. My counselor told me a long time ago that an antidepressant isn't a cure for depression. It's to help you get thru everything that you're going thru. I hope you're going to counseling as well. I have a question/concern I would like to ask you about your daughters medication that you have listed. I've been on Buspar before so I know it's a mild tranquilizer. I've also been on Celexa, which is an antidepressant. Is this a good combination for your 8 year old daughter? I don't know a whole lot about Bipolar, especially in children, and how do doctors know at such a young age that she isn't a.d.d. or a.d.h.d.?

Just want to add my opinion. I was on celexa, then fluvoxamine, and finally the wellbutrin. I have been on this anti depressant for over a year now, and feel so much better on it. As a foot note, wellbutrin is also rx for smoking cessation. No scary side effects like Zyban has.

Like the others already said Sheryl, it takes several weeks for this drug to kick in, others around you will notice the improvement in you before you do. what doseage are you on right now?

I have found 300mg xl which is now in generic with 40 mg of prozac has finally done it for me.

I'm on generic welbutrin 100 mg 2ce a day, been on it since early April. I tried Cytalopram
, before and it did the exact opposite of what it should: made it worse. the Welbutrin seems to work well for me, but I definitely needed the multiple doses. On a bad day (what origially would have been a hide under the sheets day or a knife day), I can get it out with tears or talking. I can honestly say that when I haven't done something to exacerbate the depression, this is the best I've felt since the onset in 9th grade (I'm 23.)

I am on my second time around with Wellbutrin XL, I stopped taking it when I found out I was pregnant even though I was told it wouldn't hurt the baby. I am now in the second month, the first month I was taking the 150s but at my second visit we decided I needed the 300s, the 150s just weren't getting the job done. I am now about half through the first month on the 300s and a few things are different for me, I can think, my thoughts are not all jumbled up and unreadable. My house is clean for the first time in a year and I have a bit more patience with my family. I am still having really bad mood swings but it take a little bit more to sit me off then it did before. I am no longing having self destructive thoughts, that is good. I still have a ways to go to get back to my normal self but it is getting better. Hopefully when this month of my pills is up it will have kicked in fully. It does take some time, I was told to give it a month before we try another drug, I am taking Deplin now, started today, it is suppose to help the antidepressants along. We will see.

Mine is the slow release and its the XL I don't know what the difference between the XL and the regular is, I take one every morning. Deplin from what I understand is a fairly new one, I don't know if you would call it a drug, on the box it says medical food, my doctor has had success with other patients so she wanted me to try it. I just hope it works, she called it a super charges folic acid and said that it will not react with any other medication. I trust her so I am trying it.

I am on my sixth day of Wellburtin for depression and panic atacks.   I have never taken an anti-depresssant before so I will let you know.

I was on Lorazapam for panic for about 3 years.  The withdrawal from that has been traumatic.  At least from what I can discern.  So I really can't tell what is what -the Wellbutrin or the withdrawal from Lorazapam.

I am not an addictive person but I found out I believe, how devastating medicine can be.

I couldn't sleep, have been highly agitated, can't eat,but I really think it's getting off the Lorazapam which is very potent.  I will give Wellbutrin a chance,like another two weeks and will know what symptons I am suffering.

This is not much help, but I hope to be in the future.

Yes, I believe so, I haven't had to get a script for it yet, they gave me enough samples for a month to see how I do on it, I was told it can be a bit spendy and I have the greatest doctor in the world, she will do what ever she can to keep my costs down, some doctors take advantage but she doesn't.

Another patient who is one this was a elderly woman who had gotten depressed over the loss of her husband, they tried a lot of different things and nothing was working so she put her on deplin and within a month she was up and smiling and happier. My depression is chemical so I am a bit worried about if it will work or not. Fingers are crossed XXXXX <-----that is my fingers crossed.

Hey, just wanted to let you know that I started a thread yesterday about deplin, asking if anyone else was on it, the subject is .....Deplin.....I am gonna keep a log on there of how I am feeling, there is a website if you want to read about it, it sounds really great, I hope so, since I am taking it.

This is an up day for me, right now I am feeling pretty good, I have a very busy day ahead of me so I may drop later, but I am keeping a good mind about it, maybe I can keep myself from dropping, maybe my only drop will be exhaustion, of course then I might actually sleep, I haven't been getting much lately.
