I was having some crackers with peanut butter and jelly on them this afternoon and thought to about how contented I felt with the thought of eating them.  Also I like watching sitcoms.  I would say that these things help me to feel what I percieve as normal. 

What makes you feel contented?

I guess I feel content when I do a good job like on my tests at school! =] I feel "normal" when I am able to get out and do things while not thinking about so much. I feel most content when I am having fun...like dirt-bike riding! I usually feel good when I am reading outside on a nice day...mostly because if I have time to read then it means I have nothing else I "should" be doing, which is always nice. I am always content when I am not thinking so much... I am a very deep thinker and I often think of all the things I have to do, the future, or my problems, etc...so, when I am not thinking about all of that I feel content. And lately, since I got my new car, I feel content just sitting in it listening to music!! It just seems like a huge accomplishment or milestone...because honestly, I a while ago I never would have thought I would be here now. So, I enjoy getting out, having fun, being with friends or family, helping others, anything besides focus on myself!

Karen, its great to enjoy something as simple as eating a cracker! I am not as content as that...wish I were...

I feel at my most contented when I'm skiing, when I'm pushing myself to a new limit or taking on something I've never tried before.  It's not something I get to do as often as I'd like! I also feel contented when I'm spending time with my boyfriend, just chilling out and watching tv, I also feel contented when I'm at the horse racing!

It may sound very cheesy, but at the moment I feel contented with almost everything. I feel contented to use anything I can use, like my keyboard, or a simple thing as a glass. I feel contented when I look outside, touch a lamp, eat or drink. I am happy that I am here to see, hear, touch, use, and witness everything that happens.

Letting go of the things you 'own' but instead feel contented when you are able to use them makes me happy :)

Thats really deep and philosophical Wayen! I completely understand and wish I could feel like that too!

I think feeling content for me is the day when I go home from uni on my semester breaks. I only get to see my family 3 times a year now (Which is more than some people get, I know) but I get a warm fuzzy feeling like I belong when I get home. Thats what makes me content.

When I felt better, I use to cross country ski in the winter. Confusedli, you reminded me of that. I loved the feeling of being able to glide with almost no effort. I have this trail behind me that is a slight incline going up. But coming back down, I would shut my eyes for a few seconds and it felt like flying. That was a rush. But it was sooo quiet and peaceful. I hope one day I will be strong enough to go again. I still have my skis and boots.

Finishing a class makes me feel good! (especially when I have a good grade!) =] Also, puzzles and stuff of that nature (cryptoquotes and sudoku or word searches) I love doing those things because I get to use my brain. I love getting lost in things like that. I have a little hand held sudoku thing and I keep it with me and when I get finished with other things I play on it. I am really good with numbers and I intend on keeping it that way! But, when I finaly figure it out I feel very proud of myself. I love speed also! I like to see how fast I can figure things out! Sounds weird I guess....but I do. I also love putting things together. Like...linking paper clips together or putting a puzzle together or going through a maze! I guess I just enjoy using my brain! Most of the time it works better than anything else....! 

=] Also, in my class at school, its a small lab were I work on my online class, my teacher and I enjoy reading the comics from the newspaper...so everyday I bring the comics (& cryptoquote!) and we read them, cut out the good ones, and I tape them on the wall! Our wall is looking really well!! I put them together so it all fits together! It looks really cool. But, I decided to do it so it could be a happy wall. Our lab is small and grey and we work really hard, so I decided we needed to make it fun! When people get finished they read them! My teacher wont be here half of next year so I promised to keep it up everyday and hopefully fill up our walls! It will look really cool if we covered the walls with comics! The new students would have a good time reading them(only when they finished there work of course!)

Being new,, I'll keep it short ;)

My wife and I are also avid x-country skiers!!
But, After many years of owning dogs,, we were at the state where we would see WHO wanted to take them out for a walk AGAIN!! It was getting to be a chore....
Now after the Emergency surgery,
and slowly starting to walk more....
walking the dogs has become like a cherished treasure in my life! yeah

Everything has a special brightness to it, it seems!!! :-)

think of that wall after another year of comics! That is so cool. I was thinking about you today and thought how now you might want to be a teacher. I wondered what your favorite class was and maybe it would be the class that you would teach. I thought about math. You say you love it. Is that what you are considering?

Welcome to Healing Well. I hope that you will be able to ski next winter. I didn't go once this year. But I am not giving up. I try to walk the dogs as often as I can. When I have the energy. They love it. We have been mushrooming everyday for about 2 weeks or more. I feel so fortunate to be able to get out in the woods and walk. It is therapeudic.

Yep. The comic wall is really cool! I consider it making educaiton fun! Its the happy place! =] It will be my legacy for next year when I graduate! lol

Aww...I feel special, you thought of me? :'/ My favorite class is probably History... But, alot of those jobs here are taken by coaches. Basically because its the easiest thing for them to get a degree in...even if they arent passionate about teaching it... bluhhh.... I do like math. Its not my favorite class, but Im good at it. I actually like it... I am pretty good with numbers. So, that is what I am considering. I figure if it doesnt work out, I can always apply to medical school like I always dreamed of doing. I will already have a degree so... That is pretty much my back-up plan! (for now)

Guess what! My mom let me drive today! I took my little sister with me too! I am shocked that my mom let me go. I had to talk her into it for a very long time. I wanted to go to the park, but I would have to go under a red light and then switch lanes once! lol She wont allow that yet. I wanted to start going and walking... She said she "might" let me drive to school next week! lol Basically because alot of people wont be there... its the last 3 days next week. YAY!! 7 days of school left! That makes me very happy...

Although, June 3rd I start my college class....and June 13th my family is going out of town...they are going to FL...I love the beach but I decided not to go because I would have to miss school and thats a no no. June 7th I have to take the SAT test. June 13th my family leaves early. Then, I have ot leave early to go to the local hospital, I am taking part in the Teen Volunteer Program..so I have to go to orientation early, then I have to leave that early to make it to class!!! THEN, the next day(Saturday) is the ACT... AHHHHH!!!!! lol =] I wanted to get out more, but dang....Im asking for it arent I!

I just remembered that you said that you got a car!!! That is so awesome!!! Congratulations!!! You already have college classes, wow that is something else. I am so happy for you, you really have your poop in a group girl. I wish I would have had your mind when I was your age, you never cease to amaze me Christi. I am so proud of you.
