Need information about Wellbutrin

I have Parkinson's disease and depression and I have little confidence in SSRIS as a treatment choice for the depression. I am considering Wellbutrin as an alternate med for treatment. I would like to hear from anyone who has had experience with Wellbutrin, positive or negative, personally or second hand. I need to consider all my options with this. Thank you to those that comment.

Hi again Kevin,

I took wellbutrin for a while, didn't like the way that it made things taste, but not everybody has that problem.

Wellbutrin is more on the speedy side of the anti d scale. It helps you to think clear and gives you some energy. I really liked that about it, but when they upped my dose, it made me a little nervous. It is a really good medication for some. I would recommend talking to your doctor about it and see if you can try it.

Kevin , I am with you, I am heading toward Wellbutrin too as I am on cymbalta and it has not been good to me so we are pioneers.

Hi Kevin,

I was on Wellbutrin for a couple of years and I did like the slight increase in energy, it seemed to work quickly. However, within the last few months, I started having severe headaches, dizziness. I stopped the Wellbutrin because there is a risk of stroke. The severity of the headaches has greatly diminished (it's like "regular" headaches now) and the dizziness is gone. It was scary. Everyone is different though, and other than this, I really liked this medicine.  I hope it works for you.
