First of all, I'd like to thank the people who responded to my topic about
how to handle my husband's depression. Your suggestions really help!
We have two beautiful girls and have been separated for 2 1/2 months now. After Oct. 1, I told him that I'm not leaving the house every other weekend anymore to try and get him to see that living in a hotel is not the answer to his depression. He agreed to not get an apt. yet and I gave him the open door policy to try to get him to ease back into hanging out with us. He's also going to see a psychiatrist to find out which anti-depressant works best for him. I heard that Wellbutrin (the counselor suggested that brand) doesn't come in liquid form but Prozac, Paxil and Lexipro do. I know it depends on the person and their conditions, but when I mentioned the word Prozac, his eyes got big. I think he's still in a little denial about being depressed and from I've read, that's a pretty common trait. I also got the book Depression Fallout so it would help me understand why he withdrawls sometimes, and then engages at other times.
