Hi Everybody,

Today I read all of the posts on the forum.  It really made me happy and touched my heart to see how everybody supports everybody else.  I just want to say that I think that we have a great forum here and the members and fellow moderators are wonderful. 

You guys are so supportive of each other and I think that is so important.  My question today is, If you could do something to make your life better what would it be?

I have to think about this one for a while.  I will respond soon.

Hi again,

I have been trying to think about this question. It is hard. There are a lot of things that I could do to make my life better I guess, but would I be happy? I don't have much and I don't want for much. I keep things really simple. I guess I would want my fibromyalgia to go away. That way I would be able to work a job and get out of the house. Though at this time I am pretty comfortable in the house with things the way they are. I guess I could want to be rich. But I don't think I would appreciate things the way that I do now. Right now it doesn't take much to make me happy and I like that.

Let me know what you would like to change. I am interested to see what you all would wish for.

The thing that would make me the happiest right now would be to lose the weight i gained on a/d meds. I have lost some. I used to have a very good figure and I would like to look that way again. That may be unrealistic as i am older now, i I just would like to look I guess normal would be the word.  Second, i would like to have a part time job, maybe 12-15 hrs a week. Just enough I could handle without feeling wiped out and a few extra dollars to help with bills.  But most people don't want to hire any one over 50 these days. They don't realize we are very dependable, don't have to stay home with sick kids and with as much work experience as I have had I have great skills. But I apply and don't get hired.

What would make me the happiest is to quit smoking. I hate myself for it. I have panic attacks about dying from lung cancer. The stupid thing is when I start worrying about it, I want a cigarette. I quit once for 3 years and this past year I quit for 4 weeks. Calling the Dr. for Chantix again. It's time to quit for good.

I am with you on that. I smoke too. I quit for four years and started again. It seems like when I think about quitting, I start smoking more too. So I try not to worry about it, but still stay conscious of how much (often) I smoke.
