Dear Family,
I know we have many members that are experts at CBT and there are older posts on the site but I thought the topic would be appropriate to bring up as we have many new members.
What is CBT therapy?
Cognitive-behavioral therapy is based on the idea that our thoughts cause our feelings and behaviors, not external things, like people, situations, and events. The benefit of this fact is that we can change the way we think to feel / act better even if the situation does not change.
It has been found to be helpful in Anxiety, Depression, Panic, Agoraphobia and other phobias, Social phobia, Bulimia, Obsessive compulsive disorder, Post traumatic stress disorder and Schizophrenia.
CBT can help you to make sense of overwhelming problems by breaking them down into smaller parts. This makes it easier to see how they are connected and how they affect you
CBT can help you to break this vicious circle of altered thinking, feelings and behaviour.
Here is a link to the MoodGym free online CBT therapy that you can do from your own home.
