I have not posted here for a very long time but wanted to check in. I have been a depression sufferer on and off for the last 27 years. At times there were definately things in my life that I needed to face and take charge of and when I did, I got better. Now in my 40's and all that comes with physical changes I have tended toward a more chronic condition (thanks Mother Nature). After close work with my doctor and with my naturalpath (they work together fabulously! I highly recommend it) we have all determined that I just have naturally low levels of saratonin. This is evidenced by all my blood tests, and the cycles that we have tracked to figure out this stuff. I now take Lexapro which works for me and doesn't seem to gain resistance. I have such a normal and happy life now that I am glad I found the professionals I did. Neither of them treated me like I was crazy.
I just wanted to say that I know we are all different and that what we deal with isn't easy but never give up hope of finding your way. If you have a medical care provider that treats you badly they are the ones with a problem, not you. Drop them like a hot potato and find someone who truly has compassion and will take you seriously. There is hope.
