Time for a new med?

Hi,

I've been feeling 'blah' again...probably for the past 2 years or so.  I've been on a low dose of prozac (20 mg) for over 10 years.  When I first started taking it, it changed my life.  I would say I have mild to moderate depression. 

I'm wondering if I've become immune to the Prozac.  It just doesn't seem to be working as well.  I briefly tried Celexa a few years ago but had an obscure side effect so I stopped taking it.  It was kind of a shame because my sex drive was improving.

Anyway, I'll likely go back to my Dr. and ask to try a new med.  So, I'm looking for suggestions.  Preferably something that has a generic.  I don't have RX coverage.  I do, however, have a mail order program where I can get a 3 month supply for $100 so a brand drug is OK, just more expensive than my whopping $4 a month I pay now

 

Karen has a good point. The max on Prozac is 80mg in divided doses per day so you have a lot of room to increase your dose if you feel that may be the answer for you.

I did not have luck increasing my dose of the med I was on for years that worked once it pooped out but it was a different med, different classification and I am not you. smilewinkgrin I wish it would have worked by increasing dose.
