My boyfriend and I started having sex about 2 mos ago. I was a virgin, he was not.

My period is late. I can't remember the exact date of my last one, but I know it was in early June and it's now the end of July. I also noticed that my breasts look bigger, and they feel a bit swollen. I also eat a lot more than normal and I don't know why.

We always use a condom. I'm really scared I'm pregnant. I took a pregnancy test and it came out negative. You know how some women say "they just know" when they're pregnant? I really don't feel like I am, but I seem to have symptoms.

One of my friends said that my period might be late because my body is getting used to sexual activity. Is this true? I'm so scared...

You asked about this before & several members gave you good advice to get checked out by your doctor. No one here is able to give you any medical advice & that is the only way you could get a legitimate answer to your questions. You really need to make an appointment with a gynecologist. S/he can answer all your questions about what could be causing your late period &, if necessary, could test you to see whether or not you are pregnant

I would really like to see you put your mind at ease. If you are not able to afford the cost to see a specialist, you could try contacting Planned Parenthood. They are often willing to help women come up with funds to see a gynecologist. Their website is:

Taryn, you are not listening. Read what Frances said to you. We are NOT in any position to make a call like that. Only a doctor can advise you on a matter like this.

I am sorry you are upset and nervous, but if you want to stop feeling awful, go get a blood test at your doctor which will either confirm or deny pregnancy. Also- as condoms used alone are not fool proof, i would consider being on the pill as well if it was me. A 2 pronged approach.

Please get professional advice on this.

I just want to make it clear that I was not telling Taryn that she should follow the type of contraception that I would use in my personal life. I would never dictate to someone how they should run their body, I was simply making a suggestion regarding options. Birth control is a personal choice that you should be 100% comfortable with.

I personally get the Depo Prevara shot for birth control and the longer I'm on it the stronger it gets.

But if you and your bf are only using condomes that is not a full proof way to prevent pregnancy. The full proof way is to NOT HAVE any sex at all. How old are you anyway? A baby changes your life forever and it forces you to grow up fast. If you are still living in your parents house and are afraid of what they might say then I suggest you keep your legs closed and wait until you are out of their house and on your own.

Sorry I don't mean to sound harsh. Last night I saw something I thought I would never see. There's a couple upstairs that are fighting and the boyfriend/father left in his car and then the mother who is at least 23 years of age left also. I called out to her but she didn't hear me. So I came back to check on the 4 kids they have ranging from 6 years old to 5 months old. The other neighbor from downstairs was already at their door upstairs. We heard the baby crying. A short discussion went between us.

I had JD open the door and there was the 5 month old baby on the floor by the front door and NO Mother to be found and we didn't know where she went. At least the boys were in their room. But I'm not sure what to do because if I call CPS the mother  will know one of us did so. The mother eventually came back from her walk to cool off and she acted like nothing was wrong or happened. But me and JD didn't know any better for all we knew she could have walked off period. I just know I can't see those kids go through anymore trauma. I don't care what their mother says to me.  I think I have my answer already.

You do sound very young. If you are worried about being pregnant, you should see your doctor and get a pregnancy test. And I would also advise that you talk to him/her about some form of birthcontrol. And you might want to use condoms also to protect you from STDs. Please do keep us posted to let us know what is going on. If you are worried about being pregnant, often your nerves will cause you to miss a period. Are you normally regular? Or do you miss once in a while?
