Hey everybody,

Had new PDoc appt on Friday, dx BPI. MD had me on meds that were making me worse and I knew something else was wrong. Old PDoc had hinted at BP, but he was very passive and getting ready to retire, New one is very aggressive, in a good way, in my treatment. Started new med Friday, go back in three weeks. I was shocked at dx even though I really suspected it. Knowing has been a great liberator as well as discontinuing meds that were not helping.

Thanks to everyone that has supported me, encouraged me and helped me get to the point of knowing. Now on to make lifestyle changes and work each day to be the best I can,no matter how small or large the step forward is.

I am very glad you found someone who is taking more responsibility for your treatment. My therapist is very passive about things and I hate it.... My pdoc on the other hand is very hands-on and aggressive with treating everything. I have been lucky to finally find someone who has helped me. It helps us feel better just knowing we have a doc that will help us for once.

Im very glad you are getting what you need. And I hope everything goes well for you. Let us know how you are...

My anxiety since Friday has been zero.  I knew there was something wrong with my treatment and not knowing was making me worse.  Getting a dx was a relief, now I can go forward and learn how to deal with it.  Spent the week-end educating myself, I can do this, it is do-able.  Dr. put me on Saphris, brand new mood stabilizer, so far so good.

My mood stabilizer worked rather fast like that. So it is probably already helping you. Which one are you on? I can't remember if you said or not. I just went back and read your post. It is a new one called saphrus? That is great.

I am so happy that you are feeling better, you deserve this. I think my mood stabilizer works better than my anti depressant. Yeah!!! Aren't we lucky???

You are such a special person. You don't know how good you just made me feel.

I am so happy that you found a medication that is helping you. I honestly say that I have had very few bad days since I started the abilify. And I have been taking it over a year now. I am still having trouble losing weight. But not gaining so that is good. I had my share of endulging with having halloween candy around the house, but that is gone now. If I can just get through Thanksgiving. lol... Christmas is what kills me with all the good food floating around. Wish me luck.

I have a ton of vinyl records too. Finally got a record player so that I can enjoy them. But have gotten spoiled with the CD's. Don't have to turn them over. lol...

But I have some very old rock and roll. Also Pink Floyd, Black Sabbath, and many more. Should have a garage sale, lol...

Yes Metal does rule.  I have all Black Sabbath, from the very first to the last.  Not sure if the early ones are even "playable"!  Have a great day Jamiee and Karen and everyone.  Also, have a question, been on meds one week doing well BUT last two days feeling very hyper and got really mad over nothing last night, think I should call Dr. just to let him know or to see if he wants me to go up on med?  I have had a bad cold and yesterday I took  antihistaime (which I know is bad), that may explain it but I am zooming this morning..........................

I am on Xanax .5, 3 times a day.  I have felt very good until yesterday afternoon and I started getting very manic.  Last night I was so angry and irritable I did not know what to do with myself.  Still zooming this morning.  On the Saphris just 10 mg a day, he started me low because I am the side effect queen.  I did go ahead and call this morning before Dr.'s office opened and left a message.  Just trying to hang on until they call me back.  Also just found out I have to work tomorrow and I already have 50 hours in this week.  Not a happy camper at this minute but trying to use all my coping skills!

 And when you get finished cleaning your house, mine could use some tiding up! ha ha  I feel like I am going to jump out of my skin and I was doing so well............Oh well, they still have not called back, just riding out the afternoon as best as I can.  Maybe too low dose since it started out so well.

You are probably correct.........Still waiting for a call back..........I think they do call their return calls between 4 -5 p.m., so still hanging.  I guess if he has me move up on the dose and I get really crazy, well, time for a change.  It worked so well the first week, I should know better than to get too optimistic too early.
