I've been fighting my depression for over a year (after being diagnosed with chronic back disease, prostrate cancer and receiving intestinal damage from treatment, I've been trying to handle it naturally but lately its becoming difficult. The doctor recommended Zoloft and I'm leary about taking medications due to side effects.....Just need some feedback from Zoloft patients and what I'm getting myself into.....Lucious

Zoloft depends on the person. It is different with everybody. Some people gain weight, some don't. I didn't. But I got severe diarhea from it. Most people don't get it, but I did. It worked good for the depression though. So I would recommend to try it and see what happens. That is the only way that you would know if it is going to work for you.
Best wishes,
Hugs, Karen

hi jamie here,
zoloft was the first a/d i was put on. this was 20 odd yrs ago, wasn't for me. actually made me worse, albeit i know that it works well for a lot of people. my GP says he still prescribes it as it has stood the test of time for a lot of people. a/d medications are hit and miss, give it a go, you will know if it is not right for you. all he best, jamie.
