hey im 16 still in school for now but when i finish my gcse's this year my mum wants me to leave home this has me realy scared can any one lead a few helping words????

any replays will be fine thanks alot

Hi there,

Welcome to the HealingWell Depression forum. I am glad that you have joined us.

It sounds like your mom has decided that it is time for you to leave the nest so to speak. Here generally we don't leave home until we are 18. But it could be different where you are.

Do you have a job yet? I would be looking if you don't. Or can you get financial aid if you go to college? I would be looking into these things. This can help you down the road. Don't be afraid. You are entering "LIFE". And being a responsible person and supporting yourself is what it is all about. Though I hope that your mom lets you get something lined up before she wants you to leave.

I am sure others will post with some ideas for you.

Welcome.  Is it customary for 16 year olds to leave home and move out with all families where you live ? Would you be living at college ?

It may help us to provide better advice if you give us a bit more info.

That is great. Are you going to move to a dorm? Or rent a place? I know that you are scared, but you will be fine. You will make new friends who are in the same situation as you and that will make it easier. We are all kind of scared when we leave home for the first time.
