No, your feelings are not something you should think of as being
unimportant. Major surgery affects almost every system temporarily
and it affects emotions, as well. Your emotions may be very
legitimately not functioning 100% for a while following major surgery.
If you need help with that, don't hesitate to ask your doctor for something to help you through the recovery period. SSRIs are
frequently recommended for depression. (Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors) It may even be one of your meds that is causing the depression. I can't take the Nsaids--Ibuprofen is one of them--
so I'd wait and see what the new doctor recommends. You certainly seem to be alert
to the whole situation, and I think you're going to be just fine. Remember, I'm not a doctor, and can tell you only what has
worked for me. There are just many, many medications which the
new physician may prescribe for treatment of endometriosis and for your depression. Keep your chin up; your doctors will get relief for you right away if you let them know what's happening.
Keep your diet as healthy as you can tolerate in the meantime. Avoid
caffeine, chocolate, tea, and alcohol. They all make depression worse.
Take care.
