Tristan, I hope things go really well at the doctor's office tomorrow.
Do you remember the woman named "Miss Cranberry" who wrote
to you regarding how you were feeling? She touched on the subject of transcendentalism, a philosophical term for a very difficult but extremely valuable and important spiritual form of life. It was developed notably by Immanuel Kant, a philosopher, and it's truly one of the most beautiful forms of love in its highest development.
You might find Kant's work interesting and absorbing. It's worth the effort to study his philosophy.
Depression has to do, in part, with a loss of narcissistic "love"supply from early childhood deficits of love (real or imagined). Kant's view elevates love to a much higher level than narcissistic supply.
One facet of Kant's theory relates to transcendental meditation. It's
wonderful for relieving tension and replacing it with calmness and
serenity. (It involves the use of a mantra when meditating.)
Hope you're feeling better after the visit with the psychiatrist. It
always made me feel better.
Take care.
