Hello, studyingabroad, and welcome to the Depression Forum,
Please consider remaining for the final semester. Picture yourself in your cap and gown at graduation and having your degree in your hand. You've worked hard for that and you deserve to get it after four years of dilgence.
Have you met anyone at the school whom you'd like to have dinner with or can visit in Rome as a friend during some of your free time? You will learn probably more doing that than you will attending class!
What a wonderful opportunity to meet and know people from another
country!
What about where you're living now? Is there anyone there who might like to have your friendship while you're in Rome? It could turn out to be one of the best life experiences you'll ever have if you give yourself the opportunity to know that everyone back home will be ever so eager to know about Rome and your life there. Try as best you can to have some extra curricular activity to bring down the level of depression.
If you need medication to help with the depression, please see a doctor there and take what he recommends for anxiety, which could be part of what you're experiencing as a new visitor to Rome.
Take one day at a time for the moment. Gradually, the homesickness will wither away and chances are you will be sad to leave in December.
That's going to be a beautiful season in Italy. Oh, and the food is
probably great there, too!
Keep in touch with people back home if it isn't too painful. Ask them
to help keep your spirits up as you go through the coming weeks.
Take care and keep posting as you wish. Support from others here
on the forum will be arriving soon, I think.
