Hey guys,

Haven't been on for alittle while, just haven't felt up to doing anything. So, I went to doctor today and he put me on Avanza.

Has anyone any experience with this medication? Read up alittle bit about it and it just sounds like a safety med to me.

Anyways, any info appreciated.

yes, good med, your doc has a good reason for choosing it, i found it a good base-line anti-depressant. i am hoping that it helps you. different meds work well and bad on us, am hoping you get some success with this med. sometimes it takes a few to find the right one, hope this is it for you. give it some time to allow it to have an effect, take care and know that we are here for you. jamie.

Thanks Jamiee, there as always :)

Read some good stuff about it, will get it tonight when dad gets home. My hip is playing up today and just wanted to come home and rest it. Took celebrex this morning, seems to be kicking in as the pain is starting to go away :)

I'm just happy I went and finally explained to him my problems.

Went to an interview 2 weeks back and I was literally trembling and had to hold my hand on my bottom lip, I didn't get the job because I must have looked terrible. I'm feeling positive today and as if I finally accomplished something after so many years of undiagnosed depression, I felt as if I was maybe alittle weak and didn't want people to think that.

So, I have to go see him in a weeks time, he said he might want me to go see someone about it. I didn't personally want to go see psychologist, but maybe I should.

Need to move on, 27 years old now and this has been going on since I was a teenager, I even threw in my year 11 this year because I was too emotionally unstable to be around people. Lost 2 very good friends over it, however I have 1 very good friend that has stuck by me. He even helped me pay for my rent and doesn't want me to pay it back, which I disagree with and will pay him back when I can.

I think I'm rambling alittle now, thanks for the support as always.

Hi Crackles!!! I've been wondering about you. Glad you're getting medicine for depression. Hope it helps. We had a discussion about depression and weakness. In my opinion we are stronger than most. Being able to continue on when something inside has a vice grip is no easy feat. It is one of the hardest things I've ever gone through. Yes it knocks us back sometimes, but we keep fighting. That's strength. Hang in there Crackles. Here for you.

I was just lying in bed , doing the not-sleeping thing again and I was thinking about depression and weakness. And how truly strong we are.When every fiber in your being tells you you suck, you're no good at anything, noone likes you or wants, you are a terrible person, friend, mother son etc and we don't take the easy way out, well that's strength., some might even say heroic, so don't ever beat yourself up about that. Ok going for my coffee
