I have depression, bipolar 2, anxiety, ptsd. I find myself really isolating and really need to be apart of something. So I'm here reaching out, hoping not only for encouragement and support but to reach out for friendship. The isolation as I'm sure you know only adds to depression.

It's great that you're trying to reach out. Too many people isolate their selves away for too long and it can be difficult to re-socialize yourself once that happens.
I've been dealing with depression and anxiety since I was about
12 (I'm now 24). I had about
a year or two where I thought I had completely overcome it, but roughly 6 months ago it all came crashing back down.
I haven't been on this site for too long, but I can tell there are some great people here. Welcome, and I hope you find the support you are seeking.

Hi Iris,
You are so right, and I am very happy to see that you are taking steps in a positive direction. Every day you make it through, every step in the right direction no matter how small that step may seem is a victory.

Hi there Iris,
Welcome to the depression forum. I think you will enjoy it here. We are very supportive of eachother. You should find comfort here. A place to come to escape for awhile. And yes, we talk about
food sometimes. And what we do during the day. It is all good.
Feel free to tell us more about
yourself if you want to. Know that we are all here for you. You will make friends.
Hugs, Karen

It's such I strange contradiction where you want to push people away and be left alone but then feel so lonely that you can't stand it. I understand how that goes. Just try to keep reaching out....

Welcome.
I am fairly new here but have found the people are wonderful. I am a stay at home mom with a child with special needs so it can be very lonely which doesn't help with depression. I was thrilled to find a place where I could connect with people who understand. Sometimes its nice just to know someone is listening.
