Mornin dear

I feel for John. I had pretty good teeth until 15-20 years ago but now wear a partial denture (which I have lost at the moment-lol). My husband always had trouble with his and had them pulled for full denture. He does not wear them often as they tend to gag you if you don't wear them all the time.
Yuck! Aging is not for the faint of heart, as my Dad used to say.

I hope John's visit is not too terrible-sometimes it is a relief to get them pulled. I wish him a speedy recovery. I did not realize he was doing chemo. He will be in my prayers. How is he feeling with that?

I have a mouthful of beautiful sparkling dentures. lol...

I am sorry he has to have teeth pulled. Last spring I had seven extracted at once. Not much fun, but boy do I enjoy no teeth problems. I hope all goes well. Let us know. Time for soups and soft foods. At least for a little bit.

Thanks for the good wishes for John, and for sharing your family toothsome experience.  Doesn't sound like fun for the two of you.

My mouth has always been troublesome, too.  Used to joke that John should have looked in my mouth like they do on horses, before he married me.  Lots of caps, crowns and recently an implant.  I've got a 'partial', too ....which I despise...and wish I'd never invested.

Yes, John had chemo for Hodgkin's lymphoma.  He had his last 'dose' last April and that cancer is now in remission.

Time to get going to the business.  See you this afternoon.

SEVEN teeth pulled at the same time.  OMG!  I thought John's four was a lot.  Wait till I tell him what you went through.  How long were you not 'yourself' again...and what should John eat or not eat?  I'll get some chocolate pudding made, for sure...

Milkshakes feel really good on sore mouths too!!

I went to the denture place last year to get a new partial (lost it again) and they said no, wouldn't work. They had to pull all 9 teeth on top. I asked if they had gas. No, but they will give me ONE valium. I said thanks and left-lol...

No dental insurance, except for Katie and we still pay for her braces (200/MO). we'll all celebrate when those suckers come off.

I used the gas and it didn't do anything for me. I think the valium is the best way to go. I was so dissappointed. Hey a double double letter word! But got through it.

I ate tomato soup, yogart and puddings. Didn't even think of milkshakes, but no straws. That sucking can start them bleeding again. I hope he gets though it okay. Just remember men are more babies than women when it ocmes to stuff like this. No offense to any men. But from my experience I find this to be true. lol...

It is already like early summer here-mid-80s and humid-almost turned on the a/c, daffodils and azaleas are already past bloom! Where did the winter go?

Good morning...

Just a quick hello. !/2 hr from now will wake John to take four anti-biotics to prevent infection before the teeth are pulled. He'll have to do that forever when he has oral work because of his knee replacement. Then we'll be on our way in an hour.

Well, the 'job' is done, and we're home again. Three went smoothly, but the fourth gave problems and required more novacaine. He's going to have swollen chubby cheeks for awhile, for sure.

I'll be leaving to put in a few hours at work shortly. You'll get a 'vacation' from my silly riddles today.

I love ALL the nicknames...my brother used to call me Magwheels-lol cause I raced everywhere and had a lead foot-lol

Glad John is home, hope he got some pain meds. It seems to take a little longer to heal when we reach a "certain age".

I get to work, I make the coffee. I go to pour a cup, none. This has been happening everyday. Getting old.

Oh yes, it is loads of fun getting older. Y'know, one of the last thing my mother told us 3 children (I kid you not) was make sure that we floss every day-LOL! Even she was lsughing...of course, then she told us to take care of one another and how happy we had made her.

Anyhoo, I hate when there is no coffee left for you. Sometimes I used to cheat and take a cup halfway thru the pot brewing. Or hover over the pot.

Y'all have a good day...Bean, are all your azaleas blooming up your way? We are feeling like early summer weather here, high in 80s foggy and muggy already!!

It is definitely muggy around here... Since I live in an apt, I haven't taken much notice to azaleas, but I will make sure to keep an eye out.

My mint that died while I was very depressed... it came back to life :) That's when I really knew it was time for new life... my poor, frozen, dead mint made it through the past 6 months, just like me! I immediately cut the dead parts off and gave it some new soil... will water today!

Oh, fresh mint!! It used to grow wild at my childhood home and we used in ice tea.

I use to have chocolate mint. It is so good. I think it might have come back, but it got disturbed last year so I am not sure.

It is a gorgeous day here today. Was suppose to rain, but it has not yet. I got my walk in. Feel like going for another, but afraid of overdoing it. I can easily do that with this fibromyalgia. Besides I have a sink full of dirty dishes to do. Which of course, I would rather walk.

I am glad that your mint came back Courtney. It is very tough. Just give it a drink and it will be growing again. I also have hops where the mint was growing. It climbs the trees in the back yard. It got bulldozed and still came back. It sure it tough. Must get a big root under the ground. It was just some that I got from a neighbor. I didn't think it rooted so I just threw it out in some junk. Well, it rooted alright and comes back better every year. I am anxious to see how it does this year since the bulldozer got it last year. I hope it comes back good.

Mint Juleps sounds great Maggie. I hope you have some and enjoy!!!

New to the site, was honestly "googling" alcohol and anti depresents because im considering going to my primary care provider and inquiring about starting an AD treatment. i stumbled upon this site and read some of the threads, and i must say the members here seem very caring and friendly and i hope to contribute to the community as i travel down this road,

Good morning all...

Things are going smoothly.  John's up earlier than usual, and is feeling good.  One of the four teeth pulled yesterday was VERY stubborn.  Some of it broke off and landed down his throat... he couldn't bring it up, so swallowed it.  Anyway, the pain has subsided and he is now having some oatmeal for breakfast.

Just wondered if the rest of you got that junk email today.  I deleted, so don't remember the facts clearly...

They found my email address on Healing Well and was looking for a Pay Pal donation for their sick brother.
