Took my husbands meds..now what should I do?

IM REALLY WORRIED. I GOT FIRED FROM MY JOB 2 WEEKS AGO AND HAVE BEEN VERY DEPRESSED. GETTING NO SLEEP. I HAVE TAKEN A FEW OF MY HUSBANDS LORAZEPAM TO HELP ME SLEEP. NOW I HAVE A GREAT PROSPECT FOR A JOB AND NEED TO TAKE A DRUG TEST ON FRIDAY. IF I AM HONEST WITH MY DOCTOR about THIS DO YOU THINK HE WOULD WRITE ME A 1 TIME PERscriptION FOR LORAZEPAM. MY FUTURE IS AT STAKE. I REALLY NEED TO GET THIS JOB

If the medication has helped you with your depression, anxiety, etc then by all means talk to your doctor and let him know why you took your husbands and that it helped and ask for a script of your own.

Otherwise when you go in for your drug test simply tell them that you have been taking it so that if it does show up there is an explanation for it. With any luck it will be let go at that and they won't want to see the script in your name.

Hi Worried,

Yes talk to your doctor. If it helps you, he will most likely prescribe it. If you are worried about it being in your system, don't take anymore before your test. They are usually looking for narcotics and illegal drugs. They might not even notice the anxiety med. But I would talk to the doc to be on the safe side.
