Jamie,
I know this is frightening, I would feel the same way. My DH has T1, w/ all the fun attachments that go w/ it. He has been treated for diabetic retinopathy for the last yr. He was given laser treatments in both eyes, at least 1000 shots each visit. (1 eye per visit) They also had to give him a needle in one eye. They told him the visit before the injection, so we had some time to sit and get the anxiety in full flare.
They took endless pictures of the eye when he had the injection. His eyes are now pretty stable. I wish the same for you.
They gave him drops to numb out the eye. He could see the needle coming towards him, BUT he couldn't feel it. I get upset w/ anything near my eyes, as does my DH, so I well understand your feelings. I just hope the treatment goes as well for you as it did for my DH.
My thoughts and prayers are w/ you.
God bless. Alice.
