Background:
I'm a teacher who was just laid off due to budget cuts. I had been with the same little school for 13 years. Friday after work my boss called me into his office and told me the school was merging with another school and I had no position in the new school.
I left the school in tears. I've sobbed off and on everyday since.
Today I tried to return to the school with a brave front ready to finish out my contract (10 days left).
I survived about 15 minutes. The principal told me to go home that I couldn't cry in front of the kids. The kids were due in the room in less than 5 minutes. I quickly gathered my stuff and left plans for my para-pro. I can't stop crying!
I don't recall crying this hard when my favorite aunt and cousin died suddenly!
What gets me the most is I had never gotten a bad assessment or reprimand from my boss!
I do have several health problems and have filled out an ADA with the system, but I've managed to come to work everyday even when I was ill. I have 60 sick days built up from the years.
Now I can't see any job position available to me due to my health issues.
I have lupus, Degenerative disk and facet disease, asthma, photosensitive, and carpal tunnel.
I just want to stop crying!
Not feeling my name today-
