Good Thursday morning... I've been spending a lot of time searching...reading on the internet about how to help an alcoholic.  It's overwhelming!  Yes, I feel helpless I am depressed about the situation. When my husband and I talked with our son a few days ago... I was hopeful.  He said he would stop drinking, and has done so in the past. Apparently, the term 'dry drunk' is the descript ive term, and isn't the solution.  He would still need intervention and counseling. Good Friday morning... Good Sunday morning... Not much new to report.  No plans for the holiday weekend. Had steamed lobster for dinner yesterday (only buy them when 'on sale') My teeth extraction site is finally on the mend. A lot of pain. It's been ten days.  I did tell you about the two new dental implants, I think. Good Monday morning.... Hot and humid again. If you have air conditioning....what temperature setting do you have it turn on?  We have run ours a few times when it reaches 78º indoors. John (my husband) fell in our business gravel parking area yesterday. Thinks he stepped on an untied shoe lace. Nothing broken...but really sore shoulder and knee.  He's still sleeping, so don't know how he's doing this morning.  Every day there is something else to worry about . Good Tuesday morning.... Hot and humid (again).  Looks like we're the only ones 'checking in', Karen.  Hope we hear from the rest of the gang soon. Yes, my pet dog was afraid of thunder, too.  'Becky'' would run from room to room hoping to escape.  The only thing that helped was when she got old and had a hearing loss (just like me, now!) Back to the job today.  Not looking forward to it.  Would prefer some more holiday time.  Oh well... CUL ~ Joyce Idle Thoughts Of A Wandering Mind: Dogs may not be our whole lives, but they make our lives whole.  

I was away from a computer until today. Having a "down" day. I did have some beers yesterday, so I'm sure that contributes. A little bit jealous of the silliest things... oh well.

Good Wednesday morning... I think, it's Wednesday. Heavy rain overnight... left the deck door ajar for the first time so the cats could get out of the 'wet' stuff. Good to hear from you, Courtney.  Hope today is better for you. Karen.. how is your bathroom re-model going?  Do you still have to 'visit' the backyard overnight? John is up early this morning to watch the French open tennis match 'live'.  I'm not used to company this time of day.  Usually enjoy the silence.  Now, I have the 'boing - boing - boing of the tennis ball. Time for more coffee and ciggie.  Will you join me, Karen? Hi everyone,

I think yesterday I was just worn out from the weekend. I went home since we had a long weekend & my mother & sister caused problems. Yes, I'm only 23, but I can't deal with it anymore. My dad waited for me to come home Sunday night & talked with me and I told him the same thing. I am quite certain my mom is bi-polar, but my Dad just think she harbors anger from her father and it comes out (TOO OFTEN). She told me & my sister that she just wanted us to leave and God knows how many times she has said that to me. I had enough. I waited for her to quit yelling and told her I was sorry for any involvement I had in annoying her and that she really hurt me when she says she wishes we'd leave.

I swear, telling her she hurt your feelings is like setting a bomb off. She threw mail and a blanket at me, saying "I always hurt your feelings, every single time you come home!!! Your feelings are ALWAYS hurt!!" (I left out the mean words, but you get the drift). Now, what's crazy to me is that years ago, she had a breakdown and felt that we did not take her feelings seriously. Her kick back then was that "all feelings are valid". She should have been hospitalized, but whatever, the point is that all feelings are VALID, maybe just not rational or warranted.

I drove my sister back to her apt, didn't speak for 2 hours. She has some major issues as well and I'm frustrated with her. She creates these situations a lot between members of our family. She lies through her teeth and has absolutely no problem lying to everyone. She is a misfit, so someone (usually my mom) takes her side and defends her, even though she's lying and wrong. Then, after everything has blown up, she'll do her "sorry" routine... same thing every time. She's not really sorry because she constantly does the same thing.

Anyway, I was just exhausted. My therapist now says I have cut myself off from having emotions. Well, I think it's clear to see why. No matter what, my emotions don't matter to my mother- they never have and they most likely never will. She doesn't want help, my sister doesn't want help & my dad doesn't believe in it.

Regardless, I told him I was done being a part of all the drama. So, my mother isn't talking to me, one sister isn't talking to me, and my dad, who always talks to me, is now having to play the "I'm mad at you too" role and being very cold with me.

Ontop of that, one of my close friends is being short with me for who knows what reason. But I'm back now! Hope everyone has an uneventful Wednesday :)
